These pillars on the Cramond Island causeway originally provided a barrier to prevent submarine attacks on Rosyth dockyard. The concrete 'path' on the left is actually a casing to two sewer pipes.

Looking due east from between Cramond and Silverknowes. The tide is out, and the damp sand above the high tide mark is frozen solid.
