Tower Blocks - neglect and renewal

Introduction
The tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in London has highlighted a neglected area where high rise tower blocks and public housing have been transferred to Tenant Management Organisations. We wait to see the results of any Public Inquiry but recently installed cladding appears to have been a primary factor in the spread of the fire between floors.
Over 180 blocks in England are currently known to have cladding material that has failed fire testing. In addition to Local Authority and Housing Association stock, the cladding material has also been used on student accommodation and hospitals.
