Okay, where do I start? This book has been on my TBR for the longest time. I think it's been there for so long to the extent that I actually forgot what it was about. Despite that, somehow the excitement was still alive. Something in me just knew I wanted to read this and I’m lucky to have found it at a book fair for a really good price.

I tried reading Little Fires Everywhere a few years ago and just couldn't get into it. When I added this to my TBR I had a feeling this one would be different. I'm happy to report that I wasn't wrong. The story starts off with the disappearance of Lydia and the impact that it has on her family. What I loved most about this book was that it took us back to the very beginning. This book is definitely on the slow side, but that's because it shows you everything. You get every detail you need to understand the story. Everything that leads up to where the family is now, including how they cope with it and the challenges they have to face. I know this book is listed as a mystery, but that's only a small portion of this book. It definitely goes a lot deeper than that.
