S. Radhakrishnan: His Life and Works

Rate this book
The First Edition of the book, S. Radhakrishnan: His Life and Works (2006) received an overwhelming response from the readers. This Second Revised Edition has been enlarged by adding one more chapter, entitled “Ideas and Ideals: A Creative Quantum” and making suitable changes in Glossary, Bibliography and Index, commensurate with the new Edition. The author enjoys a rare opportunity of bringing out the Second Edition of her maiden book, for which Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Hon’ble former President of India has conveyed his greetings and best wishes.

Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, whose birthday in India is celebrated as “Teachers’ Day”, was an international scholar face of India. As the second President of India, he was acclaimed as an eminent statesman, and as a teacher-leader he is remembered as a ‘philosopher-savant’. His writings and works are a glorious heritage for India.

Dr. Radhakrishnan wrote when India faced dire times, virtually opening horizons for a new morning on an ancient land of Vedas, seers and saints. Not only did his work spread light in India, but it also built a platform for her to rise as a spokesperson for the conscience of the people of the world. This Edition is dedicated to the same spirit in the service of humankind.
