Anna Dewdney was an award-winning children's-book author, illustrator, teacher, mother, and enthusiastic proponent of literacy and reading aloud to children. She was the author of the bestselling Llama Llama Red Pajama series of picturebooks, among many others. She lived with her partner Reed Duncan in Vermont where she worked, gardened, and spent time with her daughters and dogs.
This book is one of the gems of Llama llama series and I am sure other mothers can not agree more. With the help of central characters as Llama llama and Mama llama author describes how much the kids become restless and impatient in the supermarket. Mama Llama explains Llama llama that although few things are not very interesting and enjoyable but still need to done because they are important. So we need to be responsible and realise the importance of a particular task. I think this book will make kids more responsible when they go shopping with parents. Llama llama and Mama llama are both very relatable characters and rhyming is perfect in the whole book. It makes kids laugh and smile every time you read this book.
This is currently a favorite for my almost 4-year old. We have had a couple good discussions on how Llama Llama was being naughty in the store, and how he needs to act in the store. It surprised me when my son pointed out that Llama Llama still gets a treat after being naughty in the store – so we were able to have a good discussion about how Llama helped his Mama clean up the mess and started behaving. It’s a cute little story with fun rhymes and adorable illustrations. We have borrowed it from the library twice already and read it quite a few times and my son still enjoys it every time.
Love the Llama Llama series. This book is definitely relatable and its another reason why I love it. I would definitely recommend parents reading this book to children who don't really enjoy when its time to go run errands, or shopping with mom.
