Gerald J. Zgabay is an ordinary guy with extraordinary stories about the messy, unpredictable path one’s faith can follow. Gerald grew up in a small town in Texas, where he was raised Catholic while simultaneously watching his father struggle with addiction. While religion was always a part of his life, his journey was full of questions, doubts, answers, and moments of complete humbleness to complete frustration. His memoirs are first-hand accounts of his experiences in the world where he has grappled with faith, a crisis of faith, race, social injustice, and Internet pornography dependences. As he reflects on these issues as a husband, father, and Christian, he deconstructs his faith and learns what it’s like to love all people, including ...more

From faith and marriage restoration to adopting children and navigating relationships within the church, there are so many important issues to discuss and explore.

One of the things that has been really eye-opening for us as we work on this book is just how much we have learned and grown throughout our own journey. We've faced our fair share of challenges along the way, but we've also been blessed with so many moments of grace and beauty.

As we write, our hope is to share our stories and insights with others who may be going through similar experiences. We want to offer hope, encouragement, and practical advice to those who are struggling to find their way.

Of course, there is still plenty of work to be done before our book is ready for publication! But we are excited about the journey and can't wait to see where it takes us.(less)

The creature's eerie howls echoed through the woods, sending shivers down his spine as he realized that the paranormal activities he had dismissed for so long were far more real and terrifying than he had ever imagined.(less)

Boulder on the Path

This past week felt like the weight of the world was upon us. Each step seemed like pushing a boulder uphill; every interaction, a challenge; every task, an unreachable peak. Who among us hasn’t longed to embark on a 'walkabout'? To cast away our mundane burdens and seek spiritual renewal, much like the Aboriginal rites in Australia?

Amid the mundane eve…

Sobering Faith by Gerald Zgabay
"Wow. Not at all what I expected, I am grateful I got to read this. This is such a myopic look into the author's life, a deep, long, hard look. I found this pretty refreshing and not at all like most books about people having "come to Jesus" moments. " Read more of this review »

“Adoption has been both a challenging and rewarding experience for our family. By embracing open adoption, we have been able to honor and celebrate the birth families of our children while also providing a loving home for them.”

“I had always thought that being a member of a non-denominational, Southern-Baptist-rooted, majority-white evangelical church was the only way to be a true Christian. But my journey has shown me that God is not confined to the boxes we try to put Him in.”

“My wife Tabby is an incredible woman who has taught our family the importance of joy, gratitude, and love. Her positive attitude and outlook on life have been an inspiration to us all.”
