What is digital video coding?
A video coding format (or sometimes video compression format) is a content representation format of digital video content, such as in a data file or bitstream. It typically uses a standardized video compression algorithm, most commonly based on discrete cosine transform (DCT) coding and motion compensation.
What is image and video coding?
Image/video coding is a way to convert analog data into digital video format. Analog data is composed of color (chroma) and luma information. Human visual system is more sensitive to luma compared to chroma so these channels can be represented with different resolutions which is the basis of Chroma Subsampling.
What is perceptual coding in information theory and coding?
In its essentials, perceptual coding operates by analysing the whole audio signal and deleting all those parts of it which are deemed to prove inaudible because of their quietness, or closeness in time or pitch to some other louder signal component present at the same time.
