Don’t worry. Demi Moore isn’t getting nominated. She needs a baity role to happen, not this hideous horror flick. The last 30 minutes is something the Academy won’t be able to endure
It took me three days to get over the effect of the movie’s last third. It surpassed Tarantino’s bloody signature by miles, so yes, it was not easy to endure.

The problem with Demi Moore is that she agreed to give too many scenes for her co-star. As a star returning to the industry, she should have asked to increase the size of her role instead of being overshadowed by Qualley. This will be a problem when evaluating her performance.

Genius move by MUBI. The film is still very popular in theaters and this is a great complement for a major following It’s not like they dumped it on digital after being panned commercially, critically and by the audience tastes after 23 days.
pretty genius to have it viewable both ways on Halloween. I think this movie has the legs to make it to voting season

Who knows what the future holds, but I was going to say if Toni Colette, nor Lupita Nyong’o could make it in the Best Actress lineup, for their much more acclaimed roles and films in the horror department, I doubt Demi will.
Hereditary is a supernatural horror with a strong family drama element, featuring Toni Collette, who received only around 8 or 9 mentions during awards season. I feel she didn’t get the support she deserved. Because I believe her performance worked as both horror and drama. In contrast, Us is a horror film with an ambiguous message and a tendency to take itself quite seriously. While Lupita Nyong’o received more nominations than Collette, her performance—especially the doppelgänger’s unusual voice—didn’t resonate with everyone. It’s also worth noting that neither film was released during awards season.
Now, with The Substance, I realize it’s not a film for everyone, but its core message about an aging actress navigating Hollywood’s pressures would strike a chord with many in the industry. The film is also analysed by numerous YouTubers and websites, underscoring that it’s far from an ordinary horror movie.
Here’s my question: While many feel Collette and Nyong’o were snubbed, if you were to place them in the Best Actress lineup, who would you remove to make room for them?
