16 Awesome Things You'll Want To Do In New York City This Month

Read my lips: The best soup dumplings in all of NYC. Here. In this list.

    1. Out of respect, let's say it three times: Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice...on Broadway! For belly laughs, great musical numbers, and a truly ~killer~ cast, grab a ticket to see the show before it leaves for good.

    2. Take the Greenwich Village Literary Pub Crawl and learn about the local haunts of your favorite writers, poets, and playwrights. Combining history and local brews, this is a tour you won't want to miss.

    3. Where can one spend a leisurely afternoon hanging out with Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Elmo? At The Jim Henson Exhibition currently on display at the Museum of the Moving Image!

    4. Take a potions class at The Cauldron NYC and receive a one-way ticket to Hogwarts, because this immersive experience turns you into both an expert mixologist *and* a wizard. Case in point? You'll need to tap a magic wand to pour yourself a beer, then brew your own cocktail in the cauldron pictured below.

    5. Experience love at first bite at Doughnut Plant. All of their donuts are handcrafted daily and so delicious that it actually hurts. My expert pick (and the one featured below): a vanilla bean and blackberry jam square. You're welcome.

    6. If your ideal Saturday morning involves brunch and a movie, then I suggest you sprint to Nitehawk Cinema. They screen films both old and new (think The Princess Bride and Hustlers) while staff come around to take your brunch order. Mimosa with with my romantic comedy? Yes please.

    7. Learn how to ice skate at The Rink at Brookfield Place! Your one-night stay at Conrad New York Downtown will include a private one-hour skating lesson lead by former US Olympic skaters Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov.

    8. Emo Night Brooklyn pays homage to all the bands that clouded your iPod. A former factory turned bar and bowling hall, Brooklyn Bowl is an especially awesome venue for belting out "Welcome to the Black Parade" at the top of your lungs.

    9. Trade in skyscrapers for greenery at New York Botanical Garden. Their newest exhibit, The Orchid Show: Jeff Leatham's Kaleidoscope, displays lush florals that will have you running to the florist faster than you can say "I'm a bouquet person now".

    10. Have a coffee or cocktail at Felix Roasting Co., a kitschy nook on Park Avenue complete with eclectic furniture and a ton of artwork (hand-drawn mural included) that calls for a good book and some "you" time.

    11. To my fellow speakeasy connoisseurs, Please Don't Tell is a dimly lit spot that won't leave you disappointed. Not only do they offer an extensive cocktail list, but the bar is actually connected to a hotdog shop — so in other words, come hungry.

    12. Queen Celine Dion has began her "Courage" world tour which means you have attend. Your heart simply won't go on if you don't.

    13. Visit Love Me Hug Me, a new pop up exhibition, that tells a story combined with love and Alzheimer's disease: You'll begin the exhibit by watching a short film about Modesto and Lolis and then walk through seven different rooms, each modeled after a happy memory from their past.

    14. Place Sleep No More at the very top of your bucket list, which is where it rightfully belongs. This immersive theatrical experience is a choose-your-own-adventure that tells the story of Shakespeare's Macbeth, an interactive cast included.

    15. If you're looking to satisfy your budget *and* your belly, have a meal at Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao. The wait may be long, but their soup dumplings cost little more than $1 each and are truly worth the trek on the 7 train.

    16. Take a sunset stroll over the Brooklyn Bridge. The walk itself is about an hour, so slip on your athletic sneakers, bring along your AirPods, and marvel at the NYC skyline while listening to some tunes.
