Let’s talk Russula! Russula brevipes is so much fun to find because when you find one, you’ve certainly found many! These edible mushrooms grow LARGE and make your hike feel like a mystical fae walk as they break through the forest floors all over the country! I find them the most in conifer forests, but these ectomycorrhizal fungi can grow in many mixed forests. Eat them, dance with them, touch them and hear their sweet asmr sound! It’s okay to pick them. These fruiting bodies will be back ;) �
