If he’s getting fat, cut back on the chow. Looking down on your dog, you should see a visible waistline and one rib showing means the dog is in good working shape.

Aug 27, 2023 · Purina Pro Plan for my Brittany. Used to use Victor, but it was hard to find here several years ago and I switched to Pro Plan. Within a couple of days I could tell a huge difference in his energy levels. He’s almost 12 now and has more energy than he did at 1/2 that age on the old food.

When the acorns get depleted and the leaves cover the ground next month, the food plot should become very attractive to the wildlife

Nov 1, 2012 · I applied several dog proof traps by attaching them to the feeder legs. That worked but experience tells me attaching them to nearby trees is a better method. I found using a lag screw to fasten the chain to the base of the tree is best. Trapping was very effective in removing feed thiefs. I took over 50 the first winter.

Oct 12, 2024 · It’s also fun to set up feed stations. PVC gravity feeders with dog food. Fence them in if need be. Keep multiple cubby sets all around the feeders. If you stay at it, in two years you’ll have more turkey that you’ve ever seen in your life, if you can trap enough ground. Seems like 500-600ac is about the minimum to make a huge impact.
