Objectives The main objective was to assess the knowledge level on Preconception care PCC among women and evaluate the effectiveness of Structured Teaching Program on Preconception care PCC . Another objective was to find out the association between knowledge on Preconception Care and selected demographic variables. Methods An experimental approach with One Group pre test post test design was used for this study the sample consisted of 60 women studying in National University College, Jayanagar 7th block, Bangalore. The participants were selected by Stratified random sampling. The data was collected by using structured self administered questionnaire before and after the structured teaching program. Result The mean percentage of pretest score and posttest scores were 43 percentage and 76 percentage respectively and there was 33 percent enhancement in knowledge observed when obtained pretest and posttest were compared. The obtained ‘t’ value 26.62 was significant at t 59,0.001 level, hence the research hypothesis is accepted. Conclusion It indicates STP was effective in enhancing knowledge on PCC. According to United Nations Population Fund, good sexual and reproductive health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being in all matters relating to the reproductive system. In pre test majority 63.33 of B. SC 1st year student had average knowledge, whereas in the post test 46.66 of student had good knowledge. The mean percentage of post test knowledge score was higher 19.33 when compared with mean percentage of pre test knowledge score 11.33 Post test mean score 19.33 greater than previous test mean 11.33 difference is 8 hence, the research hypothesis H1 is accepted and it was inferred that the mean difference between pre test and post test knowledge score was statistically significant. The computed ‘t’ value t=29 was higher than the table value t29=2.05 at 0.05 level of significance. Hence the research hypothesis H1 is accepted and it was inferred that the mean difference between pre and post test knowledge score was statistically significant. Chi square test reveal that there is no significant association between pre test knowledge and demographic variables of BSc Nursing 1st year students. It is of two types general and obstetrical examination. Antenatal examination during pregnancy is important to detect any abnormality, and also for maternal and fetal wellbeing. The aim of antenatal examination is to optimize maternal and fetal health, by proper and prompt management. Objectives The main objective was to assess the knowledge regarding antenatal examination among B.Sc. N 4th year students and to evaluate the effectiveness of video assisted teaching regarding antenatal examination through post test knowledge scores. Method Quantitative research approach and "pre experimental one group pre test and post test research design" was adopted. Sampling Technique was "Total Enumeration sampling technique" and sample size was 50 B.Sc. N 4th year students taken from Vivekananda college of Nursing. Result The result of the study revealed that in pre test, majority 54 had inadequate level of knowledge, 42 of sample subjects were having moderate level of knowledge whereas 4 of sample were having adequate knowledge. After administration of Video Assisted Teaching Programme mean post test value shows that majority 70 had adequate level of knowledge, 26 of sample were having moderate level of knowledge whereas only 4 of sample subjects were having inadequate knowledge. Mean knowledge scores of sample subjects in pre test were 14.82 ± 4.369 which was less than mean post test knowledge scores i.e., 22.80 ± 4.295, this change was found to be statistically significant p=0.05 . Conclusion The study concluded that the student nurses had inadequate knowledge regarding antenatal examination and need to improve the knowledge level of B.Sc. N 4th year students. The study findings reveal that after administration of VATP, knowledge in post test was improved which shows that it is an effective strategy to improve knowledge. Prior to the colonial period, the indigenous languages were used in SSA for instruction. With the introduction of European rule in SSA, particularly British and French colonial rule, African children were no longer permitted to communicate in school with the language they knew. The World Bank implemented several structural adjustment programs since 1960 to improve the African educational system, but these programs became counterproductive. Finally, many trained and educated Africans continue to leave the continent to take opportunities in the West. During these first 28 days of life, the baby is at highest risk of dying. It is thus crucial that appropriate feeding and care are provided during this period, both to improve the infant’s chances of survival and to lay the foundations for a healthy life.Objective To evaluate the effect of prefeeding oral stimulation program on oral feeding skills among preterm infants.Material and Methods A quasi experimental approach and pretest posttest control group design was adopted. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 40 preterm infants i.e. 20 in each experimental and control group. In experimental group, intra and peri oral stimulation was given for 3 minutes and 2 minutes on pacifier, 2 times a day at 2 hours intervals for the duration of 4 days and in control group routine care was done. Data collection was done using oral feeding skills assessment scale. The collected data were analyzed by calculating frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi square, and -‘t’ test.Findings The results revealed that in pre test, there was no statistically significant p 0.05 difference in all levels of feeding skills among preterm infants between experimental and control group but in post test there was statistically significant p 0.05 difference found in mean score of all levels of feeding skills among preterm infants in experimental and control group. The difference between the pre test and post test mean scores of all levels of feeding skills among preterm infants in experimental group was statistically more significant in comparison with control group after provision of 4 days of prefeeding oral stimulation programme. Hence prefeeding oral stimulation programme was found to be effective in improving the oral feeding skills among preterm infants.Conclusion The effect of prefeeding oral stimulation program on oral feeding skills among preterm infants is effective and it helped in the improvement of preterm infants feeding skills. Sub Saharan Africa SSA has undergone many economic struggles since achieving independence, and in the early 1980s SSA suffered a severe debt crisis. In response, the International Monetary Fund IMF and the World Bank undertook the implementation of a trade liberalization policy through structural adjustment programs SAPs to ease the debt crisis in SSA. Three of these programs have involved the removal of agricultural subsidies, currency devaluation, and lowering tariffs on natural resources. However, despite the implementation of these programs, economic growth in SSA has been disappointing, and SAP programs earned a negative reputation because of these failures. In this literature review, we discuss studies conducted to analyze these programs. We have suggested further study to explore how these three SAP programs interrupted the economic growth of SSA in the long run, based on open ended discussions with scholars who have researched the history and political economy of the region.
