On Me: Founding Designer

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

On Me is revolutionizing digital gifting. We’ve built a new way to send gifts—personalized, media-rich, and centered around hobbies and interests, redeemable across multiple brands. Since launching in November, we’ve hit early hockey stick growth and been featured in Fortune, Axios, and The Wall Street Journal.

We’re looking for a Founding Designer to lead UX/UI, shaping an experience that feels as seamless and delightful as the best consumer products. This is a high-impact role—you’ll own the full design process, collaborate with the CEO, and build the foundation for a world-class design team.

What You’ll Do:

• Own the entire user experience and visual design.
• Drive holistic design, from delightful gifting moments to conversion-focused eCommerce flows.
• Develop and implement On Me’s UX/UI standards.
• Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to craft intuitive, engaging experiences.
• Mentor and build a future design team as we scale.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a design-focused role.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating your abilities in UX/UI design.
• Proficient with design software and UX toolkits, we currently use Figma extensively. Skills in Photoshop and relevant products from within the Adobe Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A strong eye for aesthetic design and user-centered design principles.
• Willingness to work in-person at our San Francisco office 3 days a week, or remotely from NYC.
• Excitement for working in a startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a startup environment.
• Experience working on an eCommerce or B2C product.
• Relevant degree in Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6+ years of experience as a UX designer.
• A strong portfolio showcasing a history of creating user-centered design solutions.
• Experience leading and mentoring a design team.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey design concepts and strategies to stakeholders at all levels.
• Exceptional visual and interaction design skills.
• Knowledge of the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
