A large amount of communities in the world lack sufficient amount if not any electricity.
They need light. We have potatoes. Potatoes can create light!
Solution: Create an online science fair challenge for young innovators to try to come up with a better and more sustainable solution for alternate sources of energy.
Target Audience: High school kids (15-18) and any one involved in high school education.
Strategy: Give incentive to high school kids into helping communities through an online science fair. Give hope for a better world.
Touch points: Posters, email blast, social media, microsite.
Posters:
Posters will be placed in high schools throughout the US to introduce the campaign.
Social Media:
Lays will post tips and facts about potatoes as a source of energy in their social media channels. This will help participants learn more and get inspired to create.
E-mail blast
The e-mail blast will help Lays reach principals and educators from high schools around the US to introduce the campaign. This will act as a channel for them to encourage students and also help them with the project.
Microsite
The microsite will serve as a basis for learning and gathering information about the challenge, how to participate, and registering the teams.
(The mock up of the microsite was all coded in html, css and java)
