Saturday 2 Jan 2010: The iPM New Year Honours Special
Thank you to everyone who entered a nomination for that much coveted award...the iPM New Year Honour.
The closing date for entries has come and gone and we'll be announcing the winner on 2 January. In the meantime we've been featuring some of the nominees in our programmes and on the blog.
Nominees such as 18-year-old Matt Dann. He's a quietly spoken teenager, but has a list of achievements that belies his young age.
He's the coxswain of a lifeboat, and has also recently been doing land rescues for people stuck by the floods. As a trained medic he's just become a community first responder, responsible for getting to the scene of an accident if an ambulance is too far away.
He says "it does have moments where it makes your hair stand up on the back of your neck".
Matt does all this in his spare time with a youth group called The League of Venturers Search and Rescue who've nominated him for an iPM Honour.
