Manila isn't a good place to visit, especially with the economy growing and everything getting more expensive. All locations need to be refurbished. The city is crowded, polluted, and unorganized. We stayed in Binondo, which we liked.
We stayed in Binondo, which we liked. Intramuros is a short walk away and worth visiting. Then we stayed in Makati, but we would not stay there again. Makati is similar to New York City, sky scrapers but with no Centrsl Park. Makati did not feel safe. We experienced being approached in a busy street during daytime and was harassed by two youths. Nothing was taken but they placed their hands on our bag and bag strap. Personally we would avoid visiting Makati again. We were told by a local in Binondo not to bother visiting Makati as there is nothing there except tall buildings and shopping malls.
