When I decided to add some purple to my hair a few months ago, a got maybe a couple hundred Instagram likes and a raised eyebrow from my dad. When Jin of BTS revealed he'd dyed his hair purple before their June 1 show, the response was a little more enthusiastic. Namely, thousands of ARMYs (BTS superfans) on Twitter could not contain their excitement.
Elite Daily reports that someone snapped photos of Jin at Wembley Stadium during the soundcheck for the London stop of the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour, and when those photos found their way around the internet, ARMYs couldn't believe their eyes. In addition to talking about how incredible it looks, Twitter users were quick to make the connection between the new shade and the phrase "I purple you" — a way to say "I love you" among the K-pop band's members and fans.
The enamored tweets pushed his new hair color into a worldwide trending topic on Twitter, and it only continued as footage from the actual concert became available. Check out Jin's purple hair and some of the passionate reactions to it:

Major hair-color changes for the members of BTS are nothing, new, of course, and Jin has played around with his hair plenty of times. It's been black (at the same time as the entire band, which was wild), it was blonde in the "Idol" video, and Jin has even cut his own bangs on camera. But it seems like this new purple 'do — which looks like it has pink highlights in it from some angles — may be the most celebrated switch yet.
