I'm originally from the UK but currently living in Toulouse, France. My background is in physics and information technologies, and today I work as a freelancer.
About Me
Jazz has been a passion of mine since I turned 11 and decided to learn the
saxophone. Shortly after, I saw my first jazz concert: Wayne Shorter's quartet at
the Halle aux Grains in Toulouse. Ever since then, I've tried to absorb the jazz
scene wherever I've lived and visited. In particular, I have been a regular
volunteer at the Marciac festival in southern France, where I have been
fortunate enough to see many of the leading artists in the genre.
I studied physics and worked in London for a while as a IT engineer. London was a
wonderful city to discover new music. In particular, it was during my time there that I got
introduced to free improv, and I got to see and engage with many of the leaders
of the UK scene by frequenting such iconic venues as the Vortex and Cafe Oto.
I am currently based in Toulouse and work as a freelancer in several domains, including music journalism. I contribute to
several online jazz-related platforms such as Art District Radio, writing about jazz history and interviewing artists. I'm also
a musician. I play alto and tenor saxophone, and dabble in the piano and guitar.
