1. Abstract Drawing is a way to present and convey diagrammatic detail of information to the mass peoples that explains the working, design, and composition of the products that in normal cases are difficult to understand. It is the common language of engineers and encompasses architectural, civil, mechanical, and structural professions. AutoCAD is the best software to help engineers for drawing. It is computer modeling software used to create 2D as well as 3D drawings of various objects. Standing as Computer Aided Design, it has high efficiency, low error rate, low input cost, and many more so have outcasted the traditional manual method of drawing. In this 21 st century, AutoCAD is widely used not only for engineers but also for high schoolers, college, vocational education students, and university students. With good dominating and solid modelling, it is multilateral and can be competitive in average engineering design with financial efficiency [1]. It runs on Microsoft Windows.

AutoCAD is one of the widely used software tools in engineering education. In this study, a general assessment of AutoCAD for the usage in the mechanical engineering technical drawing education is made. AutoCAD is assessed in terms of the fulfilment of the requirements defined for the main two technical drawing courses. AutoCAD is assessed in terms of its capability in meeting the requirements of the technical drawing courses.
ABSTRACT Drawing is the language of engineers. Drawings encompass the architectural, civil, structural, and mechanical professions, and they are the means of conveying diagrammatic detailed aspects of the design components of a structure. This Study intends to investigate an assessment of the use of AutoCAD package for teaching and learning engineering drawing in Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State. The investigation was carried out by administering (100) questionnaires to engineering drawing lecturers and Students of the college of engineering in the university. The Findings revealed that there are positive impacts created by AutoCAD package on teachers and Students towards the teaching and learning of AutoCAD package to teach engineering drawing in all the seven programmes in the college. Engineering drawing is done in Nigerian universities, polytechnics and colleges that offer courses in the areas of technical and vocational education (TVE), Architecture, urban and regional planning and engineering. The traditional teaching and learning of technical drawing in most Nigerian universities has been characterized by the use of such manual equipment and materials part of drawing board, dividers, compasses, set-squares, protractors, drawing paper, drawing pen, pencil, scales, and eraser among others. These manual tools and materials make drawing to be more time and energy consuming. Thus, the arrival of the 21st century information and communication technological facilities or technologies presented a more interesting and efficient facilities for the teaching and learning of technical drawing in institutions in Nigeria. The information and communication technologies that are utilized in the teaching and learning of technical drawing include computer hardware and software, computers, projectors, interactive broad, internet, scanners and so on. These are also known as computer assisted drafting/design tools. The details of these technological facilities /technologies are: Hardware : desktop and laptop computers with complete parts as key board, mouse, UPS, digitizing graphic tablet, plotter, digitizing pen, icons, scanners, projector, satellite and V-sat Software: AutoCAD, micro station, solid work, solid edge, Alibre, CATIA, NX, GTX5000, Power point, VRML, CorelDraw, spreadsheet ,graphics, database

Technical drawing is the act and discipline of composing drawings that visually communicate how something functions or is constructed. The drafting process is largely accelerated through the use of CAD software. In this paper, I will compare between the most famous 3D Modelling CAD softwares. Regarding to the specific of the profile of students going through training, the selection of 3D CAD Software is reduced to the most usually used in this field: Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. Inventor is a computer-modelling program from Autodesk that can be used to create 3D models parts. Inventor is one of the most popular programs for drafting three-dimensional design and it is commonly used in solid modeling like SolidWorks. SolidWorks is a computer-aided design (CAD) software which runs on Microsoft Windows. SolidWorks published by Dassault Systems. Both softwares appoints a parametric feature for model creation. It means designers create models using engineering shapes, such as cams, holes and slots more than using geometric terms.
A. AIMS The main goal of this course is to provide the student skill and competence in design technique by using CAD software to solve 2D and 3D drawing. B. LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of this course, student will be able to use and appreciate the knowledge and skill had learned to: 1. Prepare 2D and 3D drawing on Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for a single and multi part. 2. Demonstrate the ability to produce drawing to scale with proper dimensioning. 3. Demonstrate the ability to employ CAD systems to produce professional drawing with the legal standards of the Engineering Drawing Practice. 4. Communicate and work effectively in group through given assignments and presentations. 5. Pursue the opportunities of continuing education within the emerging fields of computer aided design and graphics.

The advance in technology caused by the rapid pace of development in computers was changing the demand of workers. The study evaluated the Auto Computer-Aided Design competency level of the drafting technology graduates along with the standard requirements in order to come up with Academe and Industry Matching Guide. Descriptive survey method was used in the study. The profile of the Auto Computer-Aided Design competence level requirement were treated using the frequency and percentage. The same statistical method was used in the Computer-Aided Design competence level of the graduating students and instructors in Drafting Technology. Based on the findings, Auto Computer-Aided Design technology was the most utilized design software. Auto Computer-Aided Design skill was the favored skill by construction industries. There was a strong significant relationship between the company's Auto Computer-Aided Design skill requirements and the extent to which these requirements were taught. The most pressing problem met by the respondents in Auto Computer-Aided Design was the lack of facilities, lack of time, updated software, lack of space in the classroom, and lack of time for Auto Computer-Aided Design instruction. Auto Computer-Aided Design technology must be offered as an independent and separate subject in the institution.

Engineering Drawing is one of the basic courses to study for all engineering disciplines. The primary problem faced in learning and teaching of engineering drawing is the limited availability of text books that focus on the basic rules and specifications in relation to the drawing methods practiced in Bangladesh. This handbook is prepared with the primary aim to elaborate necessary basic rules and regulations of engineering drawing that is necessary for students of every engineering discipline. This book is for beginners to introduce them with different elements of engineering drawing. Several worked-out examples are provided along with every chapter and also every chapter includes some exercise and assignments to be practiced by the learners. The course Engineering Drawing is extremely important as it is the language of engineers, technicians, designers and sanitarians. This handbook is devoted to provide general aspects of engineering drawing like lettering, geometric constructions, dimensioning, scaling, orthographic and isometric projections and sectioning. The handbook is prepared taking aid from a number of textbooks and articles mentioned in bibliography section. Most of the figures are drawn using AutoCAD, a few of them are collected from Google image search and some are taken from the textbooks. For further reading, students are encouraged to refer books which are listed in the bibliography section.
