The paper aims to analyze, in an archaeological perspective, the strategies of wine consumption in funerary practices of Greek and Indigenous communities of Campania during the Orientalizing period. The study focuses on the cases of Pithekoussai, Sarno Valley and Pontecagnano and deepens the different ways in which wine drinking is integrated into the funerary performances: from the collective dynamics involved by the use of the krater or a local vessel as the olla (Pitekoussai and Sarno Valley), to the introduction of a personal ‘basic vase service’ in the burial sets (Pithekoussai and Pontecagnano).

Despite the development of studies in rural landscapes of the Punic world, documentary evidence concerning the agricultural tools is still quite scarce. Nevertheless hoes, axes, sickles, billhooks, saws, shears, ploughs and threshing machines are known. This paper aims at providing a preliminary inventory of agricultural implements in the Punic world according to archaeological and iconographic sources combined with Roman agricultural and literary texts and ethnological data
An analysis about the agricultural landscapes of Palu di Zevio and Villafranca di Verona is to be presented; the two little villages are located in the countryside of Verona where the municipality, at the end of twelfth century, reclaimed and divided the land, and then built two “borghi franchi”. Thanks to archaeological data, historical maps and written documents, put on a unique GIS (Geographic Information System) platform, a reconstruction of landscape before land drainage, during the construction of villages and after their evolution has been drawn. Furthermore, a continuous overlay of data has allowed me to set up a series of thematic maps, which not only represent the shape and size of the parcels of the distributed land, but also show different uses of the soil over the centuries and different types of crops. So to conclude, some maps have been created in order to show the hypothetical location together with other elements of landscape, such as rivers and drainage ditches, marshes and woods.
