Wireless Home Energy Meter Manager using Android: A Preliminary study2019 •
Manual home energy meter reading and billing had caused inconvenience to the utility companies due to lack of manpower to read the energy meter at each household especially in the remote area, explains the increasing number of smart meter reader in the current market. Most of the smart meters in the market do not offer safety of privacy of consumers’ personal information since the data of electricity usage is being transferred digitally to the utility companies for more accurate bills calculation. Plus, the smart meter system is also a bit pricey to be installed in the rural area. Therefore, a private system that able to read energy consumption from a DC load and calculate its bill according to the tariff is proposed. Value of current is being obtained by using ACS712 current sensor. Hall circuit in the current sensor will converts magnetic field into a proportional voltage. The proposed system allows energy meter monitoring from an Android-based smartphone by displaying the real-ti...

ANDROID BASED SMART ENERGY METER2017 •
The main objective of this paper is to make intelligence of regular energy meter systems. In an existing energy meter only the quantity of used power can be perceived, but we can't monitor the Voltage, Current, Active Power, Reactive Power and Apparent power of the system. By the use of android based smart energy meters all parameters can be observed easily. The important points of this system are its mobility, low cost, easy to maintain and monitoring the total system. The process is started with the main 220V AC line that is delivered from the power line. Line voltage and current are measured by a voltage and a current sensor. These sensors are connected with the microcontroller and they will measure current with respect to a Load. Then Active Power, Reactive Power, Apparent power and watt can be calculated using different mathematical equations of the system. The measured data will display in LCD and transmitted to the android device via Bluetooth module and it will be sent to the android device. Combination of hardware and software for the system are verified and fully tested. Although there are a few limitations and difficulties encountered during development of the project, the system works as expected. By developing a smart energy meter system and by using upcoming techniques one can be benefitted in different cases.

Mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets have already become an integral part of our lives. For example, they are widely used throughout society with several applications in various business sectors which include smart houses, irrigation systems, healthcare and many more. This paper proposes a method to improve the use of smartphones with a smart wireless sensor network acquisition system through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). A new BLE Smart Sensor, which acquires environmental data was designed. This can be used with normal android devices (Smartphones, Tablets) to collect information from a smart sensor. Moreover, a BLE acquisition algorithm was successfully implemented on the firmware of the device.

Design of Intelligent Energy MeterPower is one of the most fundamental necessities of individuals, which is usually utilized for household activities, industries and farming purposes. Protection of the system from the occurrence of various accidents is the most concerning issue as it costs a lot of money to both the government and consumers. In nations like India, these circumstances are on a more regular basis, due to lack of maintenance and carelessness. In order to prevent the occurrence of such accidents we are using an Intelligent Energy Meter (IEM). IEM is an electronic device having a microcontroller interfaced with the energy meter to alert the consumer or the authority from various occurrence of accidents before handedly and also generates bill automatically at the first of every month. This paper presents an intelligent energy meter for a programmed metering. In this energy meter power used and the activation status of several sensors will be shown on the Blynk app simultaneously and conveyed to the consumers. Every accident that are about to happen are sensed and alert message is sent to the user using Wi-fi module. Wi-fi network is utilized for sending notification to the users as it is one of the faster communication technologies with respect to the short distance. The proposed system is far more advantageous than conventional energy meter and empowers remote access of existing energy meter by the energy supplier. In addition, they can screen the meter readings consistently without the individual visiting each house, as the amount of power consumption is notified to the user.

Automated Energy Meter has become the technology of today. In many recent studies lots of researchers and organizations have been working on smart meter. In the smart grid, smart meters are considered the primary component which assists the customer and provider controlling the consumption or usages of power corresponding to the availability of capitals. Great losses have impacted the electricity market because of the increasing in cost. These losses of electric power have caused an economic issue, therefore in order to make an efficient use of energy, smart metering system was counted as a best solution. The planned power metering scheme composed of power meter, connection through WiFi, and web server. Single phase power indicator was deployed using ARDUINO microcontroller and connection segment was deployed through WiFi transmission. Server end and user end are executed in web server. Smart indicator has the ability of collecting the measured power and transmits that statistics to...

https://www.ijert.org/design-and-development-of-embedded-energy-meter https://www.ijert.org/research/design-and-development-of-embedded-energy-meter-IJERTV3IS070928.pdf Now adaysEvery house, Organizations, factories, industries, business establishments, shops, offices etc. need at least one energy meter to calculate Energy consumption. The Discom(Distribution Companies)gives the bill according to the user utilization. And the energy meter shown number of units consumed by the user in digital form in Energy meter. The user can pay the electricity bill as per the predefined tariff. Consumer needs to pay the amount against the bill raised by the supplier .In this paper we are proposing method for billing according power consumption in Time of Day .In this paper we are giving a approach to reduce the power losses, power theft and Tampering problems .In this project we design a new method designing two energy meter one is placed at Street Transformer and another is placed at consumer house.Comare the two energy meters reading we can easily analyze power losses between Street transformer to consumers house. The energy meter at consumer house not gives present month bill it also stores the number units by the user for past six months. According to this we can do load survey .According to load survey we can analyze how to minimize the power consumption and how to bill the energy consumption.,
This paper presents a micro-controller based wireless digital energy meter to facilitate energy consumption measurement and its corresponding billing scheme. Details of design for the construction of energy meter using (Current transformer, Potential transformer, microcontroller, Atmega 16, LCD, Transmitter, Receiver, and a load). Electricity has become one of the basic requirements of human civilization, being widely used for domestic, industrial and agricultural purposes. At present, the need and demand for electricity requires no special mention. In spite of very well developed sources for electricity, both traditional and alternate versions, there are a lot of problems with distribution, metering and billing of electrical energy and its consumption measurement. The problem worsens further in collecting the meter readings and generating the bill. In this paper, a method of using a wireless digital system for automated transmission of data was utilized to make easy energy consumpt...
