A prime concern of Supply Chain Management is with the transfer of information between stakeholders. This implies the need for a communications strategy and for explicit communication mechanisms. On one level the Supply Chain is concerned with the quick and efficient movement of essential data from one point to another, and the growth of e-business and e-technologies has provided numerous alternative methods of achieving this. At another level, it is not merely the speed of transfer that is of relevance but the quality of the communication, particularly when communications are taking place between different linguistic and cultural entities. In the first part of this paper, Speech Act and Politeness Theories will be taken as a basis for anatomizing how communication functions and indeed misfires at a deeper level. Having developed an awareness of these underlying issues, the second part of the paper will survey some tools for developing the communications potential of supply chain stakeholders within a global business environment where English is used as the common language, whilst not necessarily being the first language of all participants. The fundamental thesis of the paper is that a healthy supply chain process requires healthy relationships between stakeholders, and that the quality of these relationships can be determined to an extremely large extent by the quality and type of language used to develop and maintain them. Although the paper is based on a supply chain perspective, its central thesis is equally pertinent to communications policy within organizations, and as a key factor in the successful management of change. Particular consideration in this regard will be given to organizational use of e-mail.

The customer in today’s marketplace is more demanding, not just of product quality, but also of service. “It is only in the recent past that business organizations have come to recognize the vital impact that logistics management can have in the achievement of competitive advantage” (Christopher, M, 2011). “Logistic management is the integration of all activities associated with flow of transformation of goods from the raw material stage through to the end of the user, as well as the associated information flows” (Sadaraoui, Mchirgui, 2014). This essay discusses how the communication should engage on logistic management and will expose the requirement and impact of digital tools in achieving the success of logistic management

Communication is considered to be one of the most important tools in the process of management. Managerial communication explores what the managers do in business, meaning that managers use the communication system to plan, organize, direct and control activities and people. Management cannot function without the techniques of communication covered in managerial communication. Management students need to learn both analytic and communication skills in order to be successful both in the university and at work. For any communication in business, in order to be effective, it must have seven qualities, which are often called the seven C’s of business communication. The message is said to be effective when the receiver understands the same meaning that the sender was intended to convey. An effective system of communication facilitates job performance and promotes satisfaction among people.
Taking into account the commercial evolutions, the three components (dimensions) of operational management may be emphasised, which support logistics, such as: management of flows necessary for responding to the intensification of the commercial exchanges; management of the interfaces used for responding to issues occurred and formation of the networks; management of sustaining the product, having as aim the improvement of the service at the client. The involvement of logistics leads to satisfying the client and reducing costs. In order to accomplish this performance, it is recommended to use four organising principles, namely - knowing and accelerating the flows of information; knowing and accelerating the flows of products; knowing and complying with the mutual commitments; knowing and managing the risk.
