The concept of halal foods is now gaining a worldwide discussion due to its recognition as an alternative benchmark for safety, hygiene and quality assurance of what we eat or drink daily. Thus foods that are produced in line with halal prescriptions are readily acceptable by Muslim consumers as well as consumers from other religions. For a Muslim consumer, halal foods and drinks mean that the products have met the requirements laid down by the Sharia law whereas for a non-Muslim consumer, it represents the symbol of hygiene, quality and safety of product when produced strictly under the Holistic Halal Assurance Management System. Therefore, consumers nowadays are so much anxious and always be aware of what they eat, drink and use. The question is arising whether the rights of Muslims were fully protected under the relevant laws and their lawfully rights if these laws were not adhered to? The objective of this paper work is to examine a preamble to the highlight of consumer protection in Malaysia and its application. The research methodology is by documentations analysis based on literature review and the outcome of this writing would be an improvement in consumer protection and consumer's comprehension in matters related to halal food products, to protect and educate consumers, and to educate producers to be more vigilant and responsible for the manufacture of their products.

When the Readers Break the Rules: Disagreement with the Consonantal Text in the Canonical Quranic Reading Traditions2022 •
The Quranic text today is recited in ten canonical reading traditions with two distinct canonical transmissions each. These reading traditions are distinct in their phonological and morphological details, as well as the interpretation of the ambiguous consonantal text. However, they all have in common that they adhere to the consonantal skeleton of the standard Quran text. Despite this adherence, on rare occasions readers do deviate from this standard text. This paper examines those cases, and explores the reasons why the canonical readers felt licensed to do so. Especially ʾAbū ʿAmr was prone to deviate from the consonantal text in cases of perceived grammatical issues. Moreover, the readers occasionally deviated from their regional consonantal text when other regional codices had another form. Finally, readers deviated from the consonantal text, in cases where the text came in conflict with the pausal spelling principle.
When reading through Augustine’s Confessions, one notices a striking variety of descriptions of God. The aim of this paper is to discern and—as far as possible—to interpret these various descriptions. Our main focus will be on pivotal texts from Books 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7. They document how much Manichaean views played a part in Augustine’s quest, and how closely this quest was linked to his ideas about evil. Briefly stated, Augustine’s search went from anthropomorphic-spatial thinking about God to corporeal/material-spatial and even panentheistic ideas and then (mainly under the inspiration of Neoplatonic philosophy, i.e. in all likelihood Plotinus’ Enneads) to a strictly spiritual and non-spatial understanding. But in all this, Manichaean ways of thought and even concepts remained present until the end.

A 2024-es Times Higher Education Asia Summit [THE Ázsiai Csúcstalálkozó] (2024. április 29. – május 1., Malajzia) megbeszélései során nem lehetett figyelmen kívül hagyni a nemzetek közötti oktatás [Transnational Education – TNE] körül kialakult hangos felbolydulást. Oktatók, szakpolitikai döntéshozók és a különböző ázsiai országok oktatási minisztériumának képviselői egységesnek mutatkoztak az oktatás hozzáférhetőségének kiterjesztésére és a globális együttműködés előmozdítására irányuló erőfeszítéseikben. A csúcstalálkozó megnyitóján Zambry Abdul Kadir, Malajzia felsőoktatási minisztere hangsúlyozta az „izomorf mimikri ” elkerülésének fontosságát. Kiemelte, hogy bár általános az Ivy League -státusz elérésére való törekvés, alapvető fontosságú, hogy a régió diákjainak sajátos igényeit kiemelten kezeljük.

Background to the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact - Legends and Facts2020 •
The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was signed on 23 August 1939. Today, eighty years on, it still stirs up controversy in public life and among academics. One side still voices the Stalinist argument, according to which the Soviet Union had no alternative: prioritizing its own security interests, it had to sign the agreement. According to the advocates of this view, the Soviet Union was forced into the situation as it was on the defensive and wanted nothing but peace. However, the archival sources that have become accessible in Germany, Poland and Russia contradict the view that paints Stalin as a passive victim. In these documents, expansionist imperial policies surface, moreover, one may find abundant cases for military, economic and political cooperation between the two totalitarian dictatorships.
