Este análisis de los discursos sobre la legitimación político-religiosa de la conquista de América, orientado genealógicamente, permite localizar los “campos de posibilidad” donde se sustentaron las prácticas –de saber y poder– que marcaron al etnocidio con el estigma trágico de tan singular violencia: verdadero dispositivo hierocrático y fundacional poco pensado, a pesar de constituir el primer referente técnico-existencial para posteriores dominaciones en el continente. La santificación de la guerra religiosa de razas contra el Otro –enarbolada por la España conquistadora– muestra que tras las producciones sacramentales de sujetos regía un orden de la trascendencia que condicionaba decisivamente al conjunto de los operadores de dominación. Dos superficies de emergencia permiten constatar la construcción de esa arcaica determinación negativa de la subjetividad idólatra: -La controversia de Valladolid, donde se cumplió el debate racial sobre “la humanidad” del indígena, quien encarnaba un “impensable” para la racionalidad medieval que termina por remitirlo al limbo de una frontera, móvil y ambigua, que se desplaza entre la “animalidad” y el “mal” [¿el indio es naturaleza?] -Las milenarias prácticas chamánicas indígenas muestran un contacto con fuerzas naturales inmanentes que –asimiladas desde el principio con la hechicería o la brujería por el clero– ratifican su pertenencia a un orden tan irreductible como “peligroso” [intervención de los aparatos inquisitoriales]. En las recomposiciones naturalistas indígenas se observa una irradiación de subjetividad que el episteme occidental, anclado constitutivamente en la trascendencia, no puede comprender todavía. Esa particular concepción indígena del mundo, inmanente y simbiótica, ¿ha constituido desde siempre la oposición extrema a la secular voluntad occidental de destrucción de la naturaleza?
