Cinque secoli dopo le riflessioni contenute nei Dialoghi di Vices conservano la loro attualità. Q uello di cui qui si propone la rilettura è il decimo dialogo, dedicato alla scrittura. È significativo che Vives abbia anticipato argomenti che oggi sono al centro dell'attenzione nella ricerca, come la relazione che intercorre tra la pratica della scrittura, la conservazione e l'incremento della memoria.
2019 •
L’impressione di quieta fiducia nella ricongiunzione del tutto a Dio avvertibile nelle opere dell’ultimo quindicennio della produzione di Luzi sembra ridurre il dato umano e storico, in una poesia ‘elementare’, a dato insignificante se confrontato alle più evidenti manifestazioni della natura (fiumi, mari, animali). La spiritualità luziana, tuttavia, risolve lo stallo prodottosi negli anni Ottanta – centrato a sua volta sulla individualità umana – mediante la figura tragica del Cristo, nel suo doppio movimento di Incarnazione e Crocifissione. Con il suo sacrificio il mondo partecipa al piano celeste. La sua presenza nella nuova poesia luziana verrà qui analizzata intendendola come punto focale delle opere degli anni Novanta e Duemila.

L’intervento indaga i brani saggistici o letterari di autori translingue ove sia tematizzato il sentimento della vergogna verso una lingua, nelle sue diverse accezioni: pudore, imbarazzo, soggezione, colpa, peccato, oppressione, gelosia (Adrian Bravi), circoscrivendo l’analisi dal dopoguerra ad oggi: un tempo nel quale il retaggio dei totalitarismi, l’ancora concreta realta del colonialismo e la nascita di nuovi nazionalismi si riverbera nel sentimento ancipite, misto di nostalgia e vergogna, verso una lingua e le sue implicazioni metaforiche e culturali. Per Luigi Meneghello, ad esempio, la riacquisizione dell’italiano attraverso l’inglese significa liberarsi dalla vergogna dell’avere introiettato, in parte inconsapevolmente, un’educazione e una retorica fasciste, cattoliche, crociane; simile sentimento permea la scelta dell’italiano da parte di Julio Monteiro Martins, che espatria dal Brasile quando comprende che la fine della dittatura non aveva comportato un reale cambiamento, c...

I limiti del discorso. Come il diritto rende blasfema la letteratura: riflessioni preliminari2019 •
Il progetto "Blasfemia e libertà dell’arte. Un’indagine su tre momenti della letteratura tedesca", ideato e coordinato dal settore ricerca dell’Istituto Italiano di Studi Germanici (Progetto 25, Linea di ricerca D – Filosofia/Storia delle idee), invita a riflettere, in termini macroculturali, storici, politici e anche psicologici, sulle elaborazioni letterarie della blasfemia principalmente nell’area linguistica tedesca (ma non solo) e a considerare gli aspetti tipicamente moderni di ribellione, emancipazione, rifondazione e innovazione che ogni discorso blasfemo porta inevitabilmente con sé per via del suo urto con la tradizione (religiosa) e la legislazione (statale) che lo condanna e punisce. A tal fine viene proposto di concentrare l’analisi su tre momenti della storia letteraria tedesca, durante i quali la blasfemia è tema ricorrente e condiviso: a) 1790-1848 (autori come il giovane Goethe, Lenz, Kleist, Büchner, Heine); b) Fin de siècle (con un’interpretazione estensiva della produzione blasfema in direzione di temi quali il satanismo, l’erotismo, la negromanzia, e di autori come Przybyszewski, Bahr, Dehmel, Doermann, George, Panizza); c) gli anni del cd. silenzio di Dio (qui le opere di riferimento sono Hiob di Roth, Doktor Faustus di Thomas Mann, testi di memorialistica: Primo Levi, Elie Wiesel, ecc.).
La Bibbia presenta un'ampia e variegata galleria di personaggi, ma nessuno come Davide si offre al lettore in modo tanto sfaccettato e intrigante: in lui si fondono tragedia e riscatto, divino e umano, peccato e perdono, regalità e tradimento, teologia e politica. Un uomo dal multiforme ingegno, abitato dai suoi fantasmi come un eroe shakespeariano, amato da Dio e non dai suoi figli. Un personaggio come questo non poteva che inspirare naturalmente la letteratura. C'è da dire che Davide nasce già come personaggio letterario. Il suo essere una creazione letteraria è dato costitutivo. Quello che leggiamo nei libri di Samuele e dei Re è un grande mito teologico-politico. Per dirla con Liverani, è una storia inventata. Non nel senso che è una fake new, ma nel senso che il racconto biblico della monarchia (ma non solo quello) è probabilmente l'esito di una stratificazione di memorie orali legate a personaggi come Saul, Davide o Salomone e una rielaborazione teologica di antiche tradizioni israelitiche. Con la riforma di Giosia del 622 a.e.v Israele prende consapevolezza di sé e ricostruisce la propria storia, una storia che però trova poco riscontro nei dati archeologici, che smentiscono certe ricostruzioni trionfalistiche create ad arte, soprattutto quelle relative al regno di Davide e Salomone. In questa conversazione cercherò di mettere insieme un approccio diacronico con uno sincronico. Per il primo, lasciando da parte l'età patristica e medievale, farò una veloce carrellata a partire dal Cinquecento per arrivare al Novecento. Lo scopo è di far vedere l'evoluzione nel tempo della ricezione e della rilettura del Davide biblico. In estrema sintesi, la parabola è questa: nel Cinquecento diversi scrittori sottolineano l'aspetto politico-religioso di Davide, visto come un emblema della Riforma. Nel Seicento inglese sia i realisti sia in puritani si riferiscono a lui. La voce «Davide» di Pierre Bayle sul Dictionnaire historique et critique (1697) segna una svolta: la figura di Davide viene desacralizzata e viene messa in risalto la sua umanità (in particolare gli ultimi di vita). Nel Novecento Davide scrive la sua autobiografia e le sue memorie. Per il secondo, mi soffermerò su quattro testi, due in poesia e due in prosa.
