2023, Fidan E., İÇ BATI ANADOLU MİMARİSİ: NEOLİTİK' TEN DEMİR ÇAĞI'NA YERLEŞMELERİN BAŞLANGICI VE GELİŞİMİ2023 •
This paper chronologically describes the architectural development in the region defined as Central Western Anatolia, lying between the Aegean coast and Central Anatolia, from the Neolithic Period to the Iron Age. To the best of our knowledge, the first permanent open-air settlement in the region is the Bilecik Bahçelievler settlement from ca. 7000 BC. Besides Bahçelievler, a small number of other settlements provide information about the architecture of the period. While the architectural development in the region can be traced in the Early Chalcolithic, the architecture of the region experiences a regression phase in the second half of the period. During this period, safe shelters in caves or on natural heights replaced the lowland settlements from previous periods. The few known architectural elements demonstrate a poorer quality. The regression in this period is explained by climate change as well. The region seems to have been densely resettled for the first time at the end of the Chalcolithic; especially the end of the 4th and the 3rd millennia BC provide strong evidence of architectural remains. The middle of the 3rd millennium BC saw a population explosion. This period also reveals the presence of a ruling elite, suggested by the first administrative buildings that appear in the region. The settlements in the region are typically smaller than 4-5 ha in size. All settlements from the region are formed by adjacent buildings surrounding a court at the centre. These sites were designed as self-enclosed settlements housing a limited number of residents. The second half of the 3rd millennium BC is characterized by a transition in the region. In this era of centralisation, small settlements have been mostly abandoned, whereas central settlements of larger sizes have been established. This phenomenon is also essentially explained by climate change. The following 2nd millennium BC defines the first real urbanisation in this region with the appearance of the earliest monumental palaces. The low number of excavations related to this era, however, prevents a clear picture of the region. Around 1200 BC, which coincides with the end of the Bronze Age, the number of settlements in this region dropped dramatically. The few surviving settlements represent the character of small villages.

Уметничка обрада сребра и црквена визуелна култура Ужица у XIX веку / The Role of Artistic Silversmithing in the Development of the Ecclesiastical Visual Culture in the 19th Century Užice2023 •
The artistically crafted silver objects made in Užice during the 19th century constitute a treasure that shapes the ecclesiastical visual culture. These objects were made in the workshops of Užice silversmiths whose activity has not been sufficiently studied. At the beginning of the 19th century Užice was the second biggest town in Serbia, after Belgrade, up until the withdrawal of the Ottomans from here. Before the big fire of 1862, over twenty silversmiths worked in the old bazaar of Užice together with numerous journeymen and assistants. The most prominent members of Belgrade’s silversmith guild in the 19th century, such as Nikola Stojisiljević and Teofan Jevtović, are from Užice. The existence of a powerful silversmith guild in Užice is documented by the traces of material culture. Silversmiths Sreten Petrović and Andrija Pejić, whose silver objects have been preserved at churches as well, presented their works at the big 1900 Paris Exposition and so did Nedeljko Vujadinović and Luka Todorović. Liturgical objects made of artistically crafted silver have been collected at Užice’s older Church of Saint Mark from the early 19th century and at the Church of Saint George built during the 1840s. The silverware of Užice churches reflects different social and cultural trends, as well as the economic and cultural transformation of the town.

Icons of Sound: Voice, Architecture and Imagination in Medieval Art
The Marble Tempest: Material Imagination, the Echoes of Nostos, and the Transfiguration of Myth in Romanesque Sculpture2020 •
The essay begins with a multisensorial immersion in the figural orchestration of a marble column from the north portal of the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela (known as the Porta Francigena, ca. 1105), which features episodes of the struggle of Ulysses with the sirens and other sea monsters, inspired by Roman sarcophagi and interpreted through the lens of Christian allegory. Taking nostos (journey of return of heroes in ancient epic) as a critical concept for the study of Nachleben der Antike (Afterlife of Antiquity), the article proceeds by developing a series of in-depth analyses of other sculptures that originally formed part of this façade, but are now reused and decontextualized in other parts of the cathedral, including such famous pieces as the "Woman with the skull". The analysis delves in their classical sources, traces their iconographic and formal transformations, and explores their phenomenological effects as they were perceived by pilgrims arriving in the square set before this portal. Literary references to authors such as Virgil, Lucretius, or Ausonius, alongside theoretical engagements with the work of thinkers such as Aby Warburg and his Mnemosyne project, or Michel Serres and his liquid history, serve to elucidate the iconographic program, chronographic structure, and material poetics of the Porta Francigena, which here emerges as a key work in the corpus of medieval art.
Review of European and Comparative Law
Energy Exchange, Association Agreement with the European Union and Legal Challenges for the Georgian Energy Law2023 •
Georgia signed an Association Agreement with the European Union in 2014, and this launched a process of approximation and harmonization with EU law. Energy law is one of the most important areas, which has to be developed and modified in accordance with the EU directives, regulations and rules of the Energy Community. Georgia took responsibility for establishing the energy exchange system and reorganizing the Georgian electricity market on a new model. In fact, these issues have not been studied, as they require, on the one hand, a very in-depth, practical knowledge of the issue and, on the other hand, erudition in the issues of legal approximation and information about the obligations assumed by the association agreement. The purpose of the article is to review the legislative regulations on the Georgian electricity market, the legal framework that defines the main principles of the market, the basis of operation, and sociopolitical and legal mechanisms of market stability. In the article, special attention will be paid to the status of the energy exchange in Georgia, its concept, its legal basis, problematic issues related to its implementation, and the future perspective. As a result of the analysis of the issues, based on the evaluation of the existing problems, the necessary legal ways of the development of energy law and the mechanisms promoting harmonization with the laws of the European Union are determined.

RESEARCH ARTICLE: Preschool Teachers’ Perceptions on Classroom Practices to Sustain Environmental Education DevelopmentIn light of an increasing global environmental crisis, children need to become individuals who are sustainably conscious and responsible towards the environment. However, past research has shown that most preschool children merely acquired knowledge of sustainability but lack practical applications in their daily lives. This research study aims to look into preschool teachers’ perceptions of Education for Environmental Sustainable Development (ENV-ESD), the level of integration of sustainability practices in classrooms, and the relationship between the two variables stated above. The study adopted a quantitative research design through survey research by using questionnaires. A total of 64 preschool teachers took part in this study from several private preschools in Petaling Jaya, a city in the Petaling District, in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. Results were then analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings from the study revealed that although preschool teachers have positive perceptions towards Education for Environmental Sustainable Development (ENV-ESD), there is still room for improvement to integrate sustainability practices into the classroom’s daily routines as the relationship between the preschool teachers’ perceptions of Education for Environmental Sustainable Development (ENV-ESD) and the level of integration of such practices in classrooms is weak.
