Cooperative diversity represents a new class of wireless communication techniques in which network nodes help each other in relaying information to realize spatial diversity advantages. This new transmission paradigm promises significant performance gains in terms of link reliability, spectral efficiency, system capacity, and transmission range. Cooperative diversity has spurred tremendous excitement within the academia and industry circles since its introduction and has been extensively studied over the last few years.

Multiuser Cooperative Diversity for Wireless NetworksCooperative diversity (CD) is an effective technique to exploit the spatial diversity offered by wireless relay nodes. However, since the cooperating terminals typically use orthogonal channels for transmission to simplify processing at the relays and the destination, CD entails a throughput reduction [1, 2]. This throughput reduction is most noticeable in CD systems with multiple source terminals since in such systems the relays use separate orthogonal channels to forward the signals received from different sources.

Exploring inconsistencies in environmental impact assessments of organic farming2024 •
Despite the growing popularity of organic farming, persistent questions surround its environmental effects. A 2017 meta-analysis suggested elevated acidification and eutrophication potentials per unit of agricultural production for organic farming relative to conventional farming. However, a recent 2023 meta-analysis contradicted these findings. This brief communication article reveals that the disparities between these meta-analyses stem from differences in averaging methods and sample sizes. The 2023 meta-analysis, employing a more robust averaging method and a larger sample size, suggests that researchers should incorporate the 2023 findings into their investigations, potentially necessitating a reconsideration of agricultural policies and dietary choices to align with updated environmental impact assessments.
