ABSTRACT The financial crisis has recalled the importance of proper financial planning. Companies which are organized as a multitude of legal entities are in particular affected by planning irregularities. To optimize the financial planning process and to cope with the challenges, we propose our service model "Financial Planning as a Service" (FiPlaaS). This approach allows companies to redesign their planning processes according to SOA principles and to achieve substantial improvements in performance.
