Analytical Study of Muhammad al-Asmars Political Poems

Politics vis-a-vis literary productions have been one of the most conspicuous engagements of the modern Arabic literati. This, in part, is due to the new dispensation of political and social matters in the modern period that, in one hand, calls for the reintroduction and, probably, reformation of the classical mode of writing with a gradual shift to the modern one. It consequently, on the other hand, brought about changes in some genres of literature in Arabic, both in form and content. The perfect example of such new trends is political poetry, which is the focus of this work.It has been, however, discovered that majority of the works available on Arabic political poetry devoted their attention mainly to the works of A?mad Shawq? (1868-1932) and ??fi? Ibrah?m (1871-1932) whose works can only cover the period before the thirties of the twentieth century.
