The UAE’s military role in Africa follows three patterns. 1.The first is the countering of jihadi terrorism (al-Qaeda; IS), insurgent groups related to the Muslim Brotherhood (an organization the UAE lists as terrorist), and piracy: the goal is supporting African states to develop/improve defense capacity through military training and education. 2.The second pattern regards military provision and cooperation in the defense industry sector: the goal is tightening stability-oriented partnerships with governments in countries where the UAE invests. 3.The third pattern relates to the Emirati reported activity in conflict landscapes, usually denied by the Emirati authorities, to enhance its influence through the military support to non-state armed actors. In each cooperation case, one pattern tends to prevail on the others; however, two patterns can be co-present in the same theatre. This three-pronged strategy of military presence in Africa also entails a flexible scheme of military outposts -comprising Yemen- which are established, expanded or temporarily used by the Emiratis to support their goals.

This electronic monograph is divided into ten chapters. The objective of this electronic monograph is to show the lessons and challenges of a pandemic contagious diseases on the economic performance of any country and the world economy. This first chapter explains each chapter of this electronic monograph. The second chapter intends to establish conceptual foundations of analyzing the economic dimensions of regional or global emerging and endemic infectious disease events. The Integral Massive Infections and Contagious Diseases Economic Simulator (IMICDE-Simulator) attempts to capture all symmetrical and asymmetrical strategic graphical movements in real space and time. The model suggests seven basic indicators - (i) massive infections and contagious contagious diseases spread intensity (cidc), (ii) treatment and prevention level (ηtp); (iii) massive infections and contagious diseases infected causalities (-Lidc); (iv) economic wear from massive infections and contagious contagious diseases (Πidc); (v) massive infections and contagious contagious diseases multiplier (Midc); (vi) total economic leaking from massive infections and contagious diseases (Lidc-total); and (vii) the economic desgrowth from massive infections and contagious diseases (-δidc). The model investigates the epidemic novel coronavirus COVID-19 identified in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. The third chapter analyses the impact of Globalization as one of the main reasons of the fast spread of COVID-19 worldwide. We divided globalization into three large pillars how Globalization works worldwide followed by: (a.) the institutional, legal, and political approach of Globalization; (b.) the massive transportations systems and the development of information communication technologies (ICT’s); (c.) the free trade liberalization and labour mobility. Hence, the main objective of this research is to show that Globalization is the major responsible of the fast and unstoppable spread of Wuhan-COVID-2019 globally. Finally, the same research suggests a deep reform of Globalization to avoid again any massive contagious epidemic diseases to reduce its impact economically and socially. In the fourth chapter, we evaluate the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) on four strategic sectors - i.e. tourism, air transportation, international trade, and electricity consumption of the Chinese economy. To do so, we develop and apply a new model - the economic crisis from massive contagious infection diseases simulator (ECMCID-Simulator). The simulator deploys a macro-dynamic analysis under different possible scenarios to evaluate the impact of a massive contagious infection disease on the short-run economic performance of a country. The chapter fifth formulates an analytical framework to understand the spatial temporal patters of of epidemic disease occurrence, its relevance and implications to economic activity, their impact on the vulnerability of different populations, and to develop public health policy decisions on disease prevention issues. The chapter suggests a paradigm shift: a new multidimensional geometric approach to capture all symmetrical and asymmetrical strategic graphical movements in real space and time. The Networks Infection Contagious Diseases Positioning System (NICDP-System) extends the traditional two-dimensional graphical representation into a multidimensional graphical framework that synchronizes the optimal virus behavior in real-time. The model investigates the epidemic 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. The sixth chapter graphically demonstrates the patterns of economic recession from any epidemic in the world, i.e. the COVID-19 contagious infectious disease. This can generate economic waves on different markets (countries or regions). This chapter evaluates the way in which an economic recession from the COVID-19 contagious infectious disease damage can simultaneously affect five different markets economic hotspots viz. East Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong), China, ASEAN, United States and the European Union (EU). To visualize how a worldwide epidemic can generate economic waves on world economy, it is necessary to apply the inter-linkage coordinate space. Finally, this chapter proposes the use of computer graphical animation, which is based on the construction of a large number of slides joined together through the production of a video. In our case, we will use Windows Microsoft movie maker software to generate the real time effect of these economic waves in the same graphical space. The chapter seventh intends to establish conceptual foundations of analysing the economic dimensions of regional or global emerging and endemic infectious disease events such as the case of COVID-19. The COVID-2019 Global Economic Impact Simulator (the COVID-2019 -GEI-Simulator) attempts to identify the COVID-19 transmission parameters and forecast its trajectories. The model introduces seven basic indicators - (i) the COVID-19 contagious spread intensity rate (SI), (ii) the treatment level for COVID-19 infected cases rate (T); (iii) the number of COVID-2019 causalities rate (-C); (iv) the economic wear from the COVID-19 epidemic rate (-Π); (v) the COVID-19 contagious cases multiplier rate (M); (vi) the total economic leaking from the COVID-19 epidemic rate (-Ltotal); and (vii) the economic desgrowth from the COVID-19 epidemic rate (-δ2019-nCoV). This specific simulator investigates the COVID-19 epidemic final impact on the Chinese economy domestically and internationally. According to chapter eighth the damage of COVID-19 from China to the rest of the world economy is costly and countless. The levels of COVID-19 contagious and death cases are increasing exponentially worldwide. Therefore, this document proposes a new form of compensation (or payoff) from China to all countries affected by COVID-19 around the world. This new form of compensation system can help to solve partially the deep damage of COVID-19 through the application of a tariff to all Chinese products and services. This new tariff is entitled "The Massive Infection Epidemic Diseases Economic Losses Tariff (MIEDEL-Tariff).” The idea is to apply the MIEDEL-Tariff to all products and services made in China. This new compensation system can help to solve the economic losses of all countries around the world affected directly and indirectly from the COVID-19. The chapter ninth proposes the national pandemics contingency plan for any country based on the application of the minimum food, water & medication storage for a massive pandemic quota (ψ-Quota). Consequently, the main objective of the ψ-Quota is to calculate the approximate amount of food, water, and medicines storage amount annually in case of a possible massive pandemic crisis. Finally, this chapter is divided into three sections: (i) the minimum food, water, and medicine quota storage calculation in case of a massive pandemic; (ii) the food, water, and medicine storage quota for a massive pandemics; (iii) the geographical distribution and mapping of the emergency aid supplier’s modules in case of a massive pandemic for any country. Finally, the ψ-Quota was applied on the case of Malaysia. Finally, the chapter tenth shows the large damage of COVID-19 on the world economy that is forcing to a deep restructuration domestically and internationally of our economies from now. This chapter suggests a Post-COVID-19 reconstruction model is called “The National Domestic Economic Auto-Sustainability Model (NDEAS-Model).” The NDEAS-Model proposes four economic platforms: (i) the domestic education and technical training standardization platform (P1); (ii) the domestic productive infrastructure and transportation platform (P2); (iii) the strategic selective trade, investment, and tourism protection platform (P3); (iv) the environmental and natural resources management platform (P4). The main objective of NDEAS-Model is to avoid imported massive pandemic diseases, non-sustainable and weak food security platforms, and jobs diversion respectively.

Abstract A double burial of the Baden culture from Tatabánya–Delphi (northern Transdanubia, Hungary) – A case study of the Dentalium beads of the Baden culture and their interpretation. In 2016, Julianna Cseh excavated a small settlement part of the classical Baden culture in the inner city area of Tatabánya. The excavated features included a double burial furnished with a rich array of grave goods, particularly of beads made of Dentalium shells. The crouched man and woman interred in the grave embraced each other tightly. The woman wore an ornate funerary garment and shell jewellery (headdress, veil, necklace, girdle). A triangular arrowhead of Úrkút radiolarite was found in her abdomen. Dentalium beads have been found in the burials of the formal/extramural cemeteries investigated at Alsónémedi and Budakalász in Hungary, and at Ratzersdorf in Austria. Their archaeological occurrence, geological sources, shapes and different use has been interpreted variously, ranging from special grave goods, prestige goods, luxury items and adornments of funerary costume to the measure of value in local communities and Late Copper Age society – a commodity used as currency in exchanges. Our interdisciplinary research is but a small contribution to the vast literature on the huge Baden complex; however, it reports on the first modern in situ observation of shell finds, enabling a detailed reconstruction of female funerary costume and its possible role. The article analyses the causes of conflicts arising between client and contractors in the construction industry. An analysis of articles on this topic has revealed that most of contemporary authors refer to externally visible signs of conflicts as to the causes thereof. The authors of the present article look at the conflict in construction in a different light – from the aspect of communication. A construction contract agreement which regulates the relationships between the client and the contractor is also viewed as a product of communication. The authors hypothesize that the main cause of conflicts in the construction industry is unsuccessful communication between the client and the contractor. The hypothesis has been confirmed by the conducted research studies. In addition, unfair behavior of the parties to a construction contract agreement and psychological defense mechanisms have been also identified as likely causes of conflicts in the construction industry.
