Review of Education, Pedagogy, and Cultural Studies, 2024
While the manifestation of a revival of a collective revolutionary imaginary is more pronounced in social movements, we see it evidenced in a renewed interested in utopian curriculum and pedagogy. This article advances this trend by following José Esteban Muñoz’s methodology, returning an early Paulo Freire formulation of utopian pedagogy as a dialectic of denouncing and announcing, and building on Darren Webb’s project of reasserting the centrality of direction in utopian imaginations. Contending that our inability to imagine a radically different world results from the dominant temporality in our conjuncture, we mine cartographic processes as both archaeological and architectural to disrupt the perceptual and ideological restraints that muzzle our ability to not only image and sense alternative possibilities but to organize for the power required for their actualization. We thread this through a concrete example of an architectural utopian curriculum that demonstrates how archaeology and architecture can be blocked together or held in dialectical tension, which entails emphasizing that utopian pedagogy emerges from and as part of concrete struggles. We look at the Warsaw Palace, a still-existing socialist utopian architectural project, that can serve as a cartographic node in combining the openings of utopian longings with the political direction needed for their realization.

The paper aims to review both the research evidence on the impacts of the current climate crisis on cultural built heritage, and the related legal frameworks adopted at national and European levels. The selected regulations, methodologies and studies present the state of the art of cultural heritage conservation and environmental risk prevention in Italy. Furthermore, they focus on the research perspectives that specialists (including the buildings archaeologist) are to consider in the immediate future. At European level, the documented impact of climate change and the urgency to address it that emerge from the recent IPCC, UNEP and COP 28 reports contrast with the neglect to establish measures that address climate change effects on cultural heritage at respective national level. Although Italy sets an encouraging example thanks to the Adaptation Strategy (SNAC 2015) and the Adaptation Plan (PNACC 2023; under approval), local authorities need strong scientific evidence to update and develop their built heritage management tools and to adopt adequate mitigation, adaptation and conservation actions. To achieve these objectives, risk-based approaches to and Preventive and Planned Conservation strategy of built heritage evaluation and protection (MOIOLI 2023) are the internationally agreed means that heritage conservation specialists must contribute to by planning targeted knowledge pathways that also align with the four structural priorities outlined in the Sendai Framework (UN 2015).

A pizzeria specialized in custom made pizzas is currently taking orders by phone. The current system where the customer calls the pizzeria takes time of employees to answer the phone and is more work consuming than necessary. They want to allow customers to customize and order their pizzas online. The pizzeria also aims to increase the sales, due to the easy to use order online website. The system will give the employees more time to “work” rather then to accept orders by phone, also the potential increase in customers are enough reason for the pizzeria to accept the change (website where customers can order their customized pizzas).

In particolare, l'articolo tenta di decifrare l'ideale poetico ed estetico insito nella scrittura weissiana, in che modo essa si relazioni al contesto e, infine, in quale forma sia posta la relazione tra opera e artista.
