PERSPECTIVES AND THEORIES OF SOCIAL INNOVATION FOR AGEING POPULATION, 2020
Gerontology together with its subfields, such as social gerontology (sociology of ageing), geragogy, educational gerontology, political gerontology, environmental gerontology, and financial gerontology, is still a relatively new academic discipline that is currently intensively developing, expanding research fields and combining various theoretical and practical perspectives. The interdisciplinarity, transdisciplinarity, and multidisciplinarity of research on ageing and old age, despite its vast thematic, methodological and theoretical diversity, have a common denominator, which is the focus of research work on improving the quality of life of older people (see Fabiś et al., 2015). This report presents the results of an evidence review to inform the parameters of the planned refresh of mental health policy in Ireland ten years after the publication of the existing policy framework set out in A Vision for Change (AVFC). The review had a broad brief covering the various dimensions of the mental health terrain that might have relevance for informing the parameters of a refresh of mental health policy in Ireland. As the timeframe for the exercise was short (approximately 12 weeks) the review took a structured, but pragmatic, broad sweep or ‘wide-angle’ perspective and approach.

On the post-2020 programmes: 1. The broad areas of intervention proposed in the draft ETC regulations are unlikely to change substan...
