Concrete pavements are widely used by pavement engineers due to their advantages over flexible pavements such as longer lifetime, good performance and durability, etc. However, concrete pavements represent some drawbacks such as shrinkage that increases the tensile stress in concrete, which may lead to cracking, warping, etc. Drying shrinkage is the most important type of shrinkage in concrete pavements. To prevent or reduce the amount of cracking, shrinkage reducing admixture (SRA) can be used. This admixture controls shrinkage by reducing water surface tensile in capillary tubes. In this study, the effect of shrinkage reducing admixture on the behavior of concrete used in concrete pavement was investigated. Adobe constructions are vulnerable to lateral loading and their failure in the past earthquakes has caused severe casualties and structural damages. Nonetheless, numerous adobe buildings are still being used in seismicprone regions worldwide, including Iran, many are of historical background. Therefore, evaluation of their lateral behavior and retrofitting stands of high priority and can lead to preserving these national assets. In this study, the cyclic lateral behavior of adobe walls made of adobe units and mud mortar was investigated under different constant axial loads. The experimental specimens were comprised of four adobe wall panels measuring 1000 mm in length, 900 mm in height, and 200 mm in thickness. خصوصیات میرایی و نیز خصوصیات ترکخوردگی ملات قیر امولسیون-سیمان، به عنوان یک لایهی حیاتی در راهآهن بدون بالاست، جهت تحمل لرزشها و تغییرشکلهای حاصل از بارگذاری قطار بسیار حائز اهمیت میباشد. به دلیل آلودگیهای زیستمحیطی ناشی از فرآیند تولید سیمان، در سالهای اخیر محققین به دنبال مصالح جایگزین سیمان با آلودگی کمتر و صرفهی اقتصادی بودهاند. این پژوهش، تأثیر استفاده از دو ماده جایگزین سیمان در ملات قیر امولسیون-سیمان شامل خاکستر بادی و نیز سرباره کوره آهنگدازی در کنار غبار کوره سیمان را بر خصوصیات عملکردی و ترکخوردگی ملات مورد ارزیابی قرار داده است. آزمونهای استقامت فشاری، استقامت کششی غیرمستقیم، حساسیت رطوبتی و نیز خمش نمونهی نیمدایرهای مورد استفاده قرار گرفته است. نتایج نشان داد که جایگزینی 30 درصد از سیمان با خاکستر بادی به صورت قابل توجهی استقامت فشاری و نیز استقامت کششی غیرمستقیم ملات را بهبود میبخشد. علاوه بر این مطابق نتایج آزمون حساسیت رطوبتی تمام ملاتهای ساخته شده نسبت استقامت کششی غیرمستقیم بیش از 80 درصد داشتند که معیار آئین نامه را تأیید نموده است. نتایج آزمون...

The climate change issue is dramatically risen by developing of urbanization. This matter of change resulted in more frequent flooding and inundation problems in the urban areas. The urban flood inundation modeling act as an efficient way to rapidly address these challenges by helping disaster managers. This paper introduces a new simulation model of urban storm-inundation. The proposed method uses commonly available input data to estimate the conditions of inundation quickly. The method is based on hydrologic models and geographic information systems. The effects of storm water infrastructures were also considered in inundation calculation. Terrain depressions are regarded as initial inundated area. The amount of surface runoff, the maximum storage volume, the flow direction and the water flow order between these depressions are all considered in the final inundation simulation. The earned value management is a powerful and important technique in analyzing and controlling the project performance. While it allows exact measurement of project progress, it lets corrective actions in a timely manner. In fact, the earned value allows project managers to find out any project time and cost deviations by calculating the performance indices. In this paper, to improve the applicability of the traditional earned value technique, we develop an integrated approach by combining statistical quality control charts with traditional earned value technique, to monitor and control project time and cost performances.
