- Victory!Kurdistan Flag EmojiKurdistan is the region in South-West Asia historically inhabited by the Kurd's. It hasn’t been an independent country lately and is divided across several states: Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria. No ISO 3166-2 subdivision matches a collective Kurdish region, although they enjoy some autonomy in Iraq now. ISO 3166-2:IQ still only has code elements for Governates,Ahmed Mustafa24311/30/19
- Create a lip-biting emojiHave you ever experienced an emotion that you couldn't find on the emoji keyboard? Can you recall the frustration you felt coursing through your veins when you had to resort to a less accurate emoji? Us Apple users demand that this emoji shown above be made available in the next iOS update. It has been too long since the creation of Apple emojis in 2008 that this facial expression be excluded. It is absolutely outrageous that we have 13 different emojis for trains/railroad cars in varying sizes and colors, 14 different emojis for arrows pointing in differing directions, 24 different emojis for clocks at every hour and half-hour mark of the day but not a single one describing anything even remotely similar to this emotion. For the past 12+ years, we've been forced to resort to emojis like such: none of which properly convey the emotion we are feeling. The fact that graphic designers have decided to take this matter into their own hands and create the emoji shown above reveals the extremity of this situation. Please. As Apple users, we are demanding you to do better. Create. This. Emoji.Miles Mu45,2113/27/21
- Bring back the original "Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes" emoji to iOSEveryone loved the previous "Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes" emoji. It was ambiguous enough to connect it with different emotions and sweet enough to make you say anything without being slapped in the face afterwards. A perfect combination of shame and joy. As Slate put it: During the golden era of emoji, we used their flexibility to transmit hard-to-articulate emotional nuggets of significance. Take, for example, that weird indistinguishable grin-grimace emoji: [no emoji support at change.org]. According to emojitracker.com, it’s the 15th most popular emoji on Twitter. Its slightly-guilty-slightly-pleased-slightly-embarrassed-but-still-excited expression made it a favorite, I suspect, because we often experience this dynamic maelstrom of feelings in real life. Like when you ask someone for a big, irritating favor that will also deepen the intimacy of your bond. Like asking a new friend to borrow their car for a weekend. Or asking your boss to let you leave early to go to a concert. A lot of asks occur, for better or worse, over text, and the grin-grimace was a trusty analog for this complex shame-joy we experience. Humanity needs this emoji. Period. Once again I quote the article from Slate: Apple's designers fundamentally misunderstood what made emoji great. This is the death of emoji, or at least the beginning of the end. RIP little friends. Amen to that.Dominik Lynen7969/21/16
- PICKLE EMOJIMe and my fellow school mate kate downey were texting this afternoon when we noticed something tragic. There was no pickle emoji. All there was was a cucumber, this upset us for many reasons. Kates one love in life is pickles. Please sign this petition so kate can have her victory. The pickle emoji would add a flavorful touch to our digital lexicon, representing not just a crunchy snack, but also cultural significance and humor. From relishing foodie moments to expressing quirky cravings, it'd be a versatile addition to our emoji palette, enriching our conversations with a tangy twist.Murphy Jane Flewelling855/21/24
- Victory!Interracial Couple EmojiInterracial Couple Emoji Emojis are the universal language of the digital age. We use them to show our emotions, to give clarity and context to our conversations, and to represent the world around us. It may seem like there’s an emoji for everything, but that’s not the case. While emojis for people of color and emojis for same-sex couples both became a reality in 2015, one group of people is still excluded from emoji representation: interracial couples. Isn’t it time all love was represented? Why is Tinder involved? We believe all love deserves emoji representation. But that’s not all—research shows that online dating and interracial relationships go hand in hand. In fact, a recent study suggested that Tinder, and the resulting increased popularity of dating apps, may be responsible for an increase in interracial marriages. Let’s join hands, stand together and #RepresentLove. It’s time for an Interracial Couple Emoji. But keep in mind; it can take up to two years for a proposed emoji to complete the review, approval and standardization process. So sign the petition today!Olivia Auxier52,4452/11/18
- Make the Thanksgiving Turkey EmojiA Thanksgiving turkey emoji has been proposed to Unicode, the non-profit organization that oversees the coding standards for texting and emoji. We at the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line — the people who talk (and text) about turkey more than anyone — echo the feelings of Thanksgiving-loving folks everywhere when we say, “It’s about time.” Every other major holiday has at least one emoji. There’s fireworks, champagne, and noise-makers for New Year’s Eve; cupid hearts for Valentine’s Day; ghosts and jack-o-lanterns for Halloween; and so much more. But Thanksgiving, the most-celebrated holiday in the country, doesn’t have an emoji that truly captures the occasion. “But there’s already a turkey emoji,” you might say. And yes, there is. But it’s not a delicious Thanksgiving turkey. So—just like Christmas got a Christmas tree, even though there was already a perfectly good pine tree—Thanksgiving deserves its own emoji too. Because Thanksgiving is one holiday that’s really for everyone. And if any Thanksgiving symbol is going to become an emoji, it has to be that iconic symbol of the holiday—a perfectly roasted turkey. So please, let Unicode hear you, and sign the petition.Haley Fisher7,4619/18/17
- Please make the Lion Emoji happierThe current set of emoji's contains only one lion, and its face looks quite sad. Sadness is not the first thing people think of when they imagine a lion. Some alternative lion moods could be courageous, fierce, or playful. So tech companies who have the power to edit and publish emoji's / emoticons, please redesign the sad lion picture into one that is either happy, fierce, courageous or playful, or make one or all of these options available as an alternative (in addition to) the sad lion.calvin Alice-Demorest19512/27/16
- Create an Axolotl Emoji to Raise Awareness for Their ConservationAxolotls, also known as Mexican walking fish, are a critically endangered species of salamander that are on the brink of extinction. Native to Xochimilco, a system of lakes and canals near Mexico City, these fascinating creatures are currently facing severe threats due to habitat loss and pollution. Despite their critical status, axolotls remain relatively unknown to the wider public. By creating an axolotl emoji, we can raise global awareness about their plight and encourage more people to support conservation efforts.Given the widespread use of emojis in today's digital age - with over 5 billion emojis sent daily on Facebook alone - having an axolotl emoji could significantly boost visibility for this endangered species. This petition calls upon the Unicode Consortium, responsible for defining new emojis, to create and implement an axolotl emoji. This would not only educate people about this unique creature but also serve as a constant reminder of our responsibility towards biodiversity conservation. Please sign this petition if you believe in using our digital platforms for positive change and raising awareness about axolotls.Cole Axlund30610/18/23
- Make a Lesbian Flag Emoji for Better LGBTQIA+ RepresentationThe struggle for visibility and representation is a vital aspect of the LGBTQIA+ journey. For many in this diverse community, the path to acceptance is often fraught with challenges but also marked by significant progress. As a member of this community, I recognize how small changes—like the introduction of a new emoji—can act as important catalysts for this movement. While these changes may seem minor, they resonate deeply, affirming identities and fostering a sense of belonging. Emojis have become essential tools for communication within the LGBTQIA+ community. More than simple pictograms, they serve as powerful cultural icons reflecting diverse identities and experiences. By allowing people to express their sexual orientations and personal stories, emojis bridge generational gaps and foster connections. In our digital age, where much interaction occurs online, these symbols are crucial for sharing experiences and supporting one another. The significance of these emojis is especially evident in the context of coming out. For many individuals, revealing their sexual orientation or gender identity can be daunting. Emojis can provide a subtle yet impactful way to signal one’s identity, often creating a sense of safety. A simple emoji can initiate difficult conversations, acting as a lifeline that fosters community and understanding in a sometimes isolating world. Among the existing emojis, the absence of a lesbian flag emoji stands out as a notable omission. While other sexual orientations are represented, this gap limits visibility for the lesbian community. An emoji representing this identity would not only acknowledge the unique challenges faced by lesbians but also serve as a visual reminder of the ongoing fight for equality, amplifying voices that have been marginalized. We call on the Unicode Consortium to take meaningful action by including a lesbian flag emoji in its next update. This addition would mark a vital step in the fight for inclusivity, recognizing the diverse experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community. Such a change may seem small, but it would serve as a visible symbol of representation for lesbians globally, encouraging important conversations about identity and acceptance. In conclusion, the fight for visibility and representation in the LGBTQIA+ community is ongoing and multifaceted. Adding a lesbian flag emoji is a powerful step toward a more inclusive digital landscape. By supporting this initiative, we contribute to a culture that honors diverse experiences. Let’s come together to advocate for change, ensuring that everyone can express their identity with pride and confidence.Zoe Ghyara3310/12/24
- Include a Microwave Emoji in UnicodeOnline, and especially while texting, emojis play a crucial role in conveying our feelings and experiences. They help to express more than what our words can, facilitating better and lighter communication across the globe. However, the set of emojis available today is incomplete - there is no microwave emoji available. The microwave is more than a simple kitchen appliance. According to statistics, as of 2019, 90% of American households own a microwave (source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). In Europe, approximately 75% of households use microwaves for their cooking needs (source: CECED Europe statistical data). Our conversations should reflect our daily lives, and including a microwave emoji will satisfyingly fill such a void in our digital communication.Adding a microwave emoji to Unicode will not only bring a sense of completeness but also provide a valuable resource for conversations about cooking, meal prep, or simply heating up last night's leftovers. Please sign this petition to advocate for the inclusion of a microwave emoji in the ever-growing list of Unicode emojis. Together, we can make our digital conversations even more reflective of our everyday lives.Logan Benson3010/18/24
- Create a Pickleball Emoji 2024It’s 2024 and Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America and soon to be the world. Unfortunately, there’s not a pickleball emoji at this point and we’re all stuck using this combination right here 🥒🏓. Well, on National Pickleball Day, I’m taking a stand and need your help to petition for pickleball to have its own emoji. Or don’t do anything and stick to using the pickle ping pong combo we’ve been using this whole time. YOUR CHOICE!Brandon Cirbo328/7/24
- Implement the Sex Toy Emoji in UnicodeSexual wellness contributes to our overall well-being, and despite the easing stigma against sex and pleasure, many still find it difficult to discuss self-pleasure. As someone passionate about this issue, I feel the lack of a sex toy emoji in Unicode is a glaring absence worth addressing. This isn't about bringing vulgarity into our daily discussions, but advocating for open, respectful dialogue that acknowledges the reality of sexual wellness. We are part of a society that communicates through technology more than ever before, and emojis are integral to this communication. They express thoughts and feelings beyond words, crossing language barriers with easy-to-understand symbolism. Currently, Unicode has more than 3,000 emojis — depicting everything from food to various expressions — yet, none signify or support conversations about sex toys and self-pleasure.Data from the Kinsey Institute suggests that adult sex toy use is becoming broad, a logical extension of human sexual behavior with 53% of women and 45% of men reporting vibrator use in a national U.S. survey (Herbenick et al., 2010). This denotes that an increasing number of individuals are acknowledging their sexual wellness and satisfaction, hence the necessity for the incorporation of corresponding symbols in our regular exchanges.By incorporating a sex toy emoji in Unicode, we can encourage further dialogue, remove stigmas, and normalize conversations about self-pleasure and sexual wellbeing. Please consider signing this petition to urge Unicode to take this vital step towards inclusive, respectful, and open dialogue about our sexual health.LELO Global1237/10/24

- Petition Apple to add a bass face emoji to iOSSommeliers of sound, maestros of music, audiophiles and appreciators gather round. Self expression has historically taken many forms, and none as encapsulating as the recent century’s foray into expression through emoji. As one of the leaders in this space, Apple has been both a pioneer through revolutionizing self expression while also being a community gathering space- listening to the needs of different communities, abilities, and identities. Music is something that has bound humans together as early as the creation of tools. It is a mirror onto culture as immediately recognizable and distinguishable from even just a few notes. It has the power to transport us back to a period of our lives years ago, or to make somebody feel at home from even thousands of miles away. Few forms of self expression transcend human culture so ubiquitously – a smile, laughter, a wave. Another almost instinctual form of expression is the music face. Various communities call it “stink face”, “bass face”, “filth face”, and other names representing the same resounding appreciation of music. The emotional content of music elicits a response that we interpret through our bodies, commonly through dance but also particularly through facial expressions. Few things are as convivial as sharing a musical moment with somebody else, seeing their music face, and returning it in an acknowledgment of your shared experience. Language is a beautiful thing because as we learn more words to define specific human emotion, we broaden our capacity to understand more intricate emotions. While emojis are a constantly evolving Rosetta Stone, they currently fall short in representing the emotion we convey with a music face. Apple adding a music appreciation face to their emoji lineup would serve to allow music appreciators to express their complex emotional response in a simple and recognizable emoji, and bring people together in a way that smiling and music has for much of our history.Anthony Temeliescu135/16/24
- Expand the Range of Band Instrument Emojis on iPhoneAs a dedicated band member, I feel underrepresented in the current selection of band instrument emojis available on iPhone. Currently, we only have a trumpet, saxophone, wooden flute and drums. This limited range does not reflect the diversity and richness of musical instruments that exist in bands worldwide.Music is a universal language that brings people together regardless of their background or nationality. It's estimated that there are over 1,200 different types of musical instruments globally (Source: Oxford Music Online). Yet our digital representation falls drastically short. The lack of inclusivity in these emojis fails to acknowledge many musicians' identities who play other instruments such as clarinets, trombones or cellos. By expanding this emoji range to include more band and orchestra instruments, we can foster greater inclusivity and representation for all musicians. We call upon Apple Inc., to broaden the variety of band instrument emojis on iPhone devices. - The World Needs a Flying Spaghetti Monster EmojiEvery religion in the world deserves it's place in the Supplementary Unicode Planes. - Implement a Catholic Rosary Beads Emoji to Respect Religious SensitivitiesAs a devout Catholic, I frequently communicate with my friends, family, and fellow parishioners through messages. It has come to my attention that the current emoji representing prayer beads does not align with the design of Catholic rosary beads. This discrepancy is distracting and fails to accurately represent our faith in digital communication.Catholic rosary beads are unique; they consist of a string of beads with a crucifix or cross not a tassel. The current emoji depicts non-Catholic prayer beads which do not reflect this specific design. This might seem like a minor detail but for us Catholics, it carries significant importance. With approximately 1.2 billion Catholics worldwide (according to Pew Research Center), there is an undeniable need for digital platforms to respect and accommodate our religious symbols accurately. By implementing an emoji that correctly represents Catholic rosary beads, we can ensure that our faith is appropriately represented in digital communication. We urge those responsible for designing and implementing emojis to consider this request seriously. Let's work together towards creating an inclusive environment where all religions are accurately represented in every aspect including emojis. Please sign this petition if you agree that we need an accurate representation of Catholic rosary beads in emojis! Carlos Alvarado743/22/24
- Add dabbing emoji to AppleIn 2018, I was always hitting the dab. I had a dream that maybe one day, I’d be able to express my love for dabbing through the phone. I believe that one day this dream will come true with your help. Make Apple add the dabbing emoji once and for all!Ella Bowman941/28/24
