Kamran Rasheed Khan better known by his stage name Lazarus is an American physician, rapper and songwriter from Detroit Michigan who is signed to Russell Simmon's YouTube MCN All Def Digital.

Life and career

Kamran Rasheed Khan was born in Detroit, Michigan to a Muslim family from Pakistan. He attended Wayne State University where he studied medicine. While studying medicine, he also began rapping. He started his career without a stage name but after few years, he changed his name to Lazarus due to hate against Muslims. He told in an interview that after 9/11 he felt that his chances of becoming a rapper were finished and that his name is a biblical character that resurrected from the dead. Lazarus gained popularity through freestyle rapping on radio stations in Detroit. He did many rap battles on FM 95.5 and FM 105.9. Lazarus later joined FM 98 and started making mixtapes and performing at venues in Detroit including theatre opening for D12 and G-Unit. While working for FM 98, Lazarus was interviewed by Discovery Channel and was featured in a documentary “The Real 8 Mile,” which was hosted by Charlie LeDuff. He released his debut album “Chapter One: The Prince Who Would be King” in 2007 which lead to receive him three nominations “Lyricist of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” and “Artist of the Year” at the 2007 Detroit Hip Hop Awards. The album had 18 tracks including a feature track from Royce da 5'9". A single “Let The Game Know” from his debut album received worldwide coverage. The music video of “Let The Game Know” was directed by film director Anthony Garth. Another single “Drug of Choice” which was filmed in Pakistan received over a million views on YouTube.
In 2013, Lazarus signed to Russell Simmon's YouTube multi-channel network All Def Digital and in 2014 he released a single “Open Heart Surgery” featuring D12's rapper Bizarre.

F&R Lazarus & Company — commonly known as Lazarus — was a regional department store retail chain operating primarily in the U.S. Midwest, and based in Columbus, Ohio. For over 150 years, Lazarus was influential in the American retail industry, particularly during the early 20th century as a founding partner in Federated Department Stores, and continued until the nameplate was retired on March 6, 2005, in favor of Macy's.

History

Beginnings

Family patriarch Simon Lazarus (1808–1877) opened a one-room men's clothing store in downtown Columbus in 1851. By 1870, with improvements to the industry in the mass manufacture of men's uniforms for the Civil War, the family business expanded to include ready-made men's civilian clothing and eventually a complete line of merchandise. Sons Fred Lazarus, Sr. (1850–1917) and Ralph Lazarus (1852–1903) joined the business and added many innovative marketing techniques. The company acquired the John Shillito Company of Cincinnati in 1928 (established in 1830) and a year later, was one of the four founding members of Federated Department Stores in 1929 (along with Williams Filene's Sons Co. and Abraham & Straus). Bloomingdale Brothers joined the company in 1930.

Louis-Charles-Bonaventure-Alfred Bruneau (3 March 1857, in Paris – 15 June 1934, in Paris) was a French composer who played a key role in the introduction of realism in French opera.

As a youth, Bruneau studied the cello at the Paris Conservatory, and played in the Pasdeloup orchestra. He soon began to compose, writing a cantata, Genevieve de Paris while still a young man. In 1884 his Ouverture heroique was performed, followed by the choral symphonies, Léda (1884), La belle au bois dormant (1886). In 1887, he produced his first opera, Kérim.

The following year, Bruneau met Émile Zola, launching a collaboration between the two men that would last for two decades. Bruneau's 1891 opera Le rêve was based on the Zola story of the same name, and in the coming years Zola would provide the subject matter for many of Bruneau's works, including L'attaque du moulin (1893). Zola himself wrote the libretti for the operas Messidor (1897) and L'Ouragan (1901). Other works influenced by Zola include L'enfant roi (1905), Naïs Micoulin (1907), Les quatres journées (1916), and Lazare (produced posthumously in 1954). Other operatic works by Bruneau contained themes by Hans Christian Andersen (Le jardin du Paris in 1923) and Victor Hugo (Angelo, tyran de Padoue in 1928). Bruneau's orchestral works show the influence of Wagner. His other works include his Requiem (1888) and two collections of songs, Lieds de France and Chansons à danser.

Blood is the third studio album by American progressive rock band OSI, released by InsideOut Music on April 27, 2009 in Europe and May 19, 2009 in North America.

Guitarist Jim Matheos and keyboardist and vocalist Kevin Moore started work on the album in 2008, collaborating by email. Matheos would send Moore a song idea which Moore would edit and send back to Matheos. Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, who performed drums on Office of Strategic Influence and Free, was replaced by Porcupine Tree drummer Gavin Harrison on Blood. Matheos played bass guitar on the album, having hired guest musicians to perform bass duties on the first two OSI albums. Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth and Tim Bowness of No-Man wrote lyrics and performed vocals on one track each.

Critical reception of Blood was generally positive. The more atmospheric and ambient tracks were praised; the more metal-oriented tracks received mixed reactions. Moore's lyrics and Harrison's drumming, in particular, were met with acclaim.

Blood (Hangul: 블러드; RR: Beulleodeu) is a 2015 South Korean television series starring Ahn Jae-hyun, Ji Jin-hee, Ku Hye-sun and Son Soo-hyun. It aired on KBS2 from February 16 to April 21, 2015 on Mondays and Tuesdays at 22:00 for 20 episodes.

Plot

Park Ji-sang is a doctor specializing in hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery at Taemin Cancer Hospital, the best hospital in the country. He is also a vampire. Despite seeming cold and unfeeling, Ji-sang masks his soft heart and inner pain and yearns for closeness with people. He believes very strongly in the sanctity of human life, and suppresses his thirst for blood to treat terminally ill patients and save lives.

Among his colleagues is Yoo Ri-ta, a hotshot physician who entered medical school at the age of 17 and is also the niece of the chaebol group chairman who owns the hospital. Ri-ta is highly capable but snooty and prideful, yet Ji-sang finds himself falling for her. He also gets drawn into a conflict between good and evil as he encounters Lee Jae-wook, a two-faced hospital chief who gains everyone's trust with his gentle demeanor, but inwardly harbors a dangerous ambition for power and a talent for cruelty.

"Blood" is a song by British post-punk revival band Editors and is featured on their 2005 debut album, The Back Room. It was released 11 July 2005 as the third single from the album (see 2005 in British music). It was re-released 19 June 2006 also. It was in very limited release with the CD limited to 5000 copies whilst the 10" single was deleted on day of release and was only available through pre-ordering. Over the two formats it contained 2 cover songs (originally by Talking Heads and R.E.M.) and 2 remixes of the album track Camera by Jason Spaceman and Paul Oakenfold.
