The Roaring Twenties is a term for the 1920s in the Western world. It was a period of sustained economic prosperity with a distinctive cultural edge in the United States, Canada, and Western Europe, particularly in major cities such as New York, Montreal, Chicago, Detroit, Paris, Berlin, London, and Los Angeles. In France it was known as the "années folles" ("Crazy Years"), emphasizing the era's social, artistic and cultural dynamism. Normalcy returned to politics in the wake of hyper-emotional patriotism after World War I, jazz music blossomed, the flapper redefined modern womanhood and Art Deco peaked. The era saw the large-scale use of automobiles, telephones, motion pictures, radio, electricity, refrigeration, air conditioning; commercial, passenger, and freight aviation; unprecedented industrial growth, accelerated consumer demand and aspirations, plus significant changes in lifestyle and culture. The media focused on celebrities, especially sports heroes and movie stars, as cities rooted for their home teams and filled the new palatial cinemas and gigantic sports stadiums. In most major countries women won the right to vote.
Roaring 20s is the second studio album by British duo, Rizzle Kicks. The album was released in the United Kingdom on 2 September 2013. The album will be preceded by the release of the official lead single, "Lost Generation", as well as the promotional track "That's Classic".
The album sees the duo team up with long-term collaborators Ant Whiting and Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim, who both appeared as producers on the duo's first album Stereo Typical, as well as songwriter Jamie Cullum co-writing two tracks on the album, and lending guest vocals to one. Pete Cannon produced the album's opening 2 tracks. An exclusive super-deluxe edition, featuring a signed poster, AAA lanyard and Rizzle Kicks pendant, is available exclusively from the Rizzle Kicks online store. This version also includes an exclusive deluxe physical copy of the album. The first single from the album, "Lost Generation", debuted at number six on the UK Singles Chart.
The duo revealed on 9 July 2013 that they were forced to call in libel lawyers to take a look through the lyrics of "Lost Generation", as they feared legal action after name-checking both Chelsea FC footballer John Terry and television personality Jeremy Kyle in the song. A friend of the band told The Sun that they contacted their lawyers to make sure their lyrics wouldn't land them in trouble. The Sun newspaper broke the story, saying: "Rizzle Kicks aren't your ordinary popstars. They are well known for having a lot to say in their lyrics - and on this track it's no different. The words speak for themselves. Libel lawyers had a close look at the lyrics."
Rizzle Kicks is an English hip hop duo from Brighton, consisting of Jordan "Rizzle" Stephens (born (1992-01-25) 25 January 1992) and Harley "Sylvester" Alexander-Sule (born (1991-11-23) 23 November 1991). Their debut album Stereo Typical was released on 31 October 2011. As of May 2012, Rizzle Kicks have sold over 1 million singles and over 600,000 albums in the UK.
In 2006, Jordan began attending rap and performance workshops with the Brighton-based charity AudioActive, joined a year later by Harley. The pair attended AudioActive's Hip Hop Foundation project and Jordan continued attending workshops and performances until 2010. Jordan is quoted as saying this work helped the duo "hone our skills and build a passion towards the career that we're in now. AudioActive did us a lot of good and without them we wouldn't be here!"
Jordan and Harley both attended Brit School where Jordan studied Media and Harley studied Theatre. Jordan was in the process of making his mixtape Minor Breaches of Discipline where he rapped over samples of some of their favourite artists (Gorillaz, Lily Allen, Arctic Monkeys) and asked Harley to sing over some of the tracks. Realising how well their styles fitted together, they formed Rizzle Kicks in 2008. The name stems from 'Green Rizla', an early nickname given to Stephens by a football teammate after a crew of the same name from the school that he attended at the time. That nickname evolved into 'Rizzle' and the duo decided on the suffix 'kicks' due to their shared love of football.
Make it rain bitch.
Yeah, ayye yo, good morning mister.

Drinking milkshakes in Barbados sounds proper sweet.
Cause a life's so suitable.
Your yard's so, nice and your wife's so beautiful.
Your car still shines and your food's so unusual.
Hit me with a dire, are you actually Zeus' fool, crazy.
If you talk like that your gonna regret what happens in the future, future.
Don't stress right now, cause now's not time realise this life don't suit

But, what about the champagne and girls that'll twirl.
It'll taste so much better if you've earn it yourself.

Take it step by step.
Gotta jam yourself.

I want diamonds to go but steal some womans' hearts and clubs.
Waitin' isn't half as fun, if I jacked the cam, maybe the Queen will put me
In charge for once.
Yeah wouldn't that be ace.
No, son your a chaser.
Dreams full of beauty but all of it made up.
If I give you everything that wouldn't change much.
You needa feel like your work has paid off.
Nahh, give it. I'll even eat my spinach.
I'm a nu-di-ist, I'm living near a beach with heaps of women.
Maybe see all the Pacific if you need to be specific.
Drinking tea but still be chilling, all I need is like a million.
Give me keys to the ignition, see these streets feel like a prison.
Can you please be free of moulin, I want stacks.
Eye the physique of Peter Griffin although I'll never reach my limit.
I'd just need to keep the spirit, what you thinking.
Go jam yourself.
You gotta jam yourself.
You gotta jam yourself.
You gotta jam yourself.
Cause nobody can hand you well.

Girls be flaired but then the plans be failed.
