Burn is the third studio album by industrial rock band Sister Machine Gun.
Burn has two hidden tracks on the CD release. The first is a cover of The Doors, "Strange Days" which is found by rewinding the CD to -4:20 on a CD player (this may not work on software media players). The second is a reprise of the song "Inside" found at 8:43 on the final track.
Burn is the first full-length album recorded by the thrash metal band, Havok. It was released in 2009 on Candlelight Records.
Drum, bass and guitar recording started in mid-2008 in the basement of singer/guitarist David Sanchez's mother's house, in Lakewood, CO. It took roughly 6 months. Vocals were recorded later at Motaland Studios in Denver with engineer Bart McCrorey, who also mixed the album. The band did not work with a producer due to a limited budget of roughly $2,500.
Halsey Swain provided the artwork after an earlier version of the same concept by another artist was rejected.
The album consists of 5 tracks that had been previously released on various EPs or demos and 7 tracks that were original to the album. Bassist Justin Cantrell contributed "Morbid Symmetry" to the songwriting process, but left the band before recording began. This track was designated the "single" for the album, though no actual single was ever released. Jessie De Los Santos replaced him. Drummer Ryan Bloom left the band shortly before the album's release date and was not permanently replaced until 2010. His credit on the album reads, "drum tracks by Ryan Bloom," and he was the lyricist for "Ivory Tower."
Burn is an EP by American heavy metal band Fear Factory, released in 1997 by Roadrunner Records. The title track, "Burn" is a remix of "Flashpoint" (a track from the Demanufacture album), which appears on the Remanufacture album. Burn has sold over 5,000 copies.
Rage is a collectible card game originally published by White Wolf in 1995 based on the roleplaying game, Werewolf: The Apocalypse. The game is based around packs of werewolves battling each other and various evil monsters while trying to save the world.
Rage had five sets of cards:
The game was discontinued by White Wolf after Legacy and the license sold to Five Rings Publishing Group (FRPG).
FRPG produced a new version of the game with the same card backs and set in the same world, but with completely different mechanics making it incompatible with the first version of the game. The second version of the game had seven card sets. The first 6 were numbered and released once a month. They were known as Phase 1 through 6. The final set, Equinox, combined together three of the smaller numbered sets (7-9) into one larger set.
FRPG was bought out by Wizards of the Coast (the makers of Magic: The Gathering), who were in turn bought out by Hasbro. Hasbro discontinued many of the games it had acquired in the take over, including Rage. The license for the game lapsed back to White Wolf.
28 Days Later is a 2002 British post-apocalyptic thriller film directed by Danny Boyle. The screenplay was written by Alex Garland. The film stars Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Brendan Gleeson, Megan Burns, and Christopher Eccleston. The plot depicts the breakdown of society following the accidental release of a highly contagious virus and focuses upon the struggle of four survivors to cope with the destruction of the life they once knew.
Successful both commercially and critically, the film is credited with reinvigorating the zombie genre of horror film. The film spawned a 2007 sequel, 28 Weeks Later, a graphic novel titled 28 Days Later: The Aftermath, which expands on the timeline of the outbreak, and a 2009 comic book series titled 28 Days Later.
In Cambridge, three animal liberation activists break into a medical research laboratory with the intent of freeing captive chimpanzees. They are interrupted by a scientist, who desperately warns them that the chimps are infected with a highly contagious rage-inducing virus that is spread through blood and saliva. Ignoring the scientist's pleas, the activists release a chimpanzee, who attacks one of them and immediately infects her — causing her to attack and infect everyone else present.
Rage is a 1972 film starring George C. Scott, Richard Basehart, Martin Sheen and Barnard Hughes. Scott also directed this drama about a sheep rancher who is fatally exposed to a military lab's poison gas.
Nicolas Beauvy is featured as the rancher's doomed son in a cast that also includes Paul Stevens and Stephen Young.
While on a camping trip, sheep rancher Dan Logan (Scott) and his son are inadvertently exposed to a secret Army nerve gas from a helicopter passing overhead. Both end up in a military hospital in which they are kept apart, unable to contact outsiders, and lied to about their condition by a mysterious major (Sheen), who looks at the incident as little more than an opportunity to study the effectiveness of a nerve gas on humans.
Logan tries to hold someone accountable for their actions, but he and his family physician (Basehart) are stone-walled from every angle by military authorities and by bureaucrats staging a cover up -- with those responsible already well insulated by their positions of power. He is hospitalized and put under observation by the government for symptoms related to exposure to nerve agents, and to record his physiological responses to the toxins.
I live my life on 10 because that's just who and what I am,
I'm not just livin' no I'm alive,
Gotta own it with attitude this carnival of chaos is what I choose,
Onward I mow and reap what I sow,
I'm in it to win it,
I'm here to start me up a feud,
I'm hollow as a hurricane beating down on you,
So listen up ya haters (all of you) uncomfortable inside your skin,
Nothing you could say would ever change me
Self destructive, madness seeding
In my head the angers seething
Rage like a fire bomb
Burn like a pyre
Rage like a fire bomb
Burn it's what I'm built to do
I'm hard to the bone,
Can't pull the sword from a heart that's made of stone,
It's never bleeding, numb to feeling,
My stance to kill it, mind determination to break the rule,
Pathetic fucking order falls to doom
Self destructive, madness seeding
In my head the angers seething
Rage like a fire bomb
Burn like a pyre
Rage like a fire bomb
Burn it's what I'm built to do
Even if I die,
It's my time now,
I'll make it my fight,
It's my time now,
Even if I die,
It's my time now,
I'll make it alright,
It's my time now
Self destructive, madness seeding
In my head the angers seething
Rage like a fire bomb
Burn like a pyre
Rage like a fire bomb
