Route 13 is a highway in Missouri which runs almost the entire north–south length of the state. Its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 69/136 in Bethany. Its southern terminus is at the Arkansas state line in downtown Blue Eye, Missouri–Arkansas where it continues as Highway 21. It is one of the original state highways of Missouri.
The road serves as an important corridor between Springfield and Kansas City, two of the three largest cities in the state. Heading north from Springfield, Route 13 intersects Route 7 at Clinton which in turn carries traffic to Interstate 49/U.S. Route 71 at Harrisonville. I-49/US 71 then continues on into downtown Kansas City. Route 13, Route 7, and I-49/US 71 now provide a four-lane highway (much of it freeway) between Springfield and Kansas City since the completion of the final widening project between Collins and Clinton.
Several sections from north of Reeds Spring through Branson West have been widened, rebuilt, moved, and renamed to help ease traffic congestion through the towns. Drivers regularly use these routes to get to many of the lakes in southern Missouri and this has caused a major headache in recent years. One section of road has been renamed Route 413 and travels north to Springfield. In June 2009, the nation's first diverging diamond interchange, a style of interchange where traffic crosses to the left-side of the road, opened to traffic. The interchange is located at the I-44/MO-13 junction in Springfield.
Route 13 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line currently runs from Walbrook Junction in West Baltimore (the intersection of North Avenue, Hilton Street, and Bloomingdale Road) to Canton, mostly along North Avenue. The line has two main branches, both operating to Canton: one that operates via Fells Point (these buses are marked Fells Point) and the other via Linwood and East Streets (these buses are marked Canton). Both these branches serve Johns Hopkins Hospital. Additionally, selected trips on weekdays and Saturdays operate to the block of Milton Avenue, Federal Street, and Patterson Park Avenue.
In 1999, Route 13 has the highest farebox recovery rate of all MTA bus lines, recovering nearly its entire cost.
The current bus route is the successor to the 13 North Avenue and 22 Washington Street–Canton streetcar lines.
Route 13 was Baltimore's first streetcar line, having started it operation in 1890 along North Avenue. In 1898, the no. 22 streetcar line on Washington Avenue began operation; this ran until 1938 when it was absorbed into the no. 34 streetcar. The no. 33 bus started operating along Milton Street in 1950, and was absorbed into Route 13 in 1954, the same year the no. 13 streetcar was converted into a bus. In 1975, the Highlandtown portion of the no. 34 bus became a part of today's Bus Route 22.
Route 13 is a 38-kilometre two-lane uncontrolled access secondary highway traversing the central portion of Prince Edward Island, Canada in a more or less north-south direction between Crapaud and Cavendish. It passes through a mainly rural area of Prince Edward Island. A portion of Route 2 (south of Hunter River) is commonly called the "Hopalong Road."
There is an important intersection with Route 2 at Hunter River. There are minor intersections with
Route 225 in the rural community of Hopedale (where it is called Hopedale Road),
Route 246 in Kellys Cross and
Route 224 in New Glasgow.
Route 13 intersects with
Route 235 (Kingston Road) east of Brookvale. In Cavendish it intersects with
Route 6 and terminates at Gulf Shore Road inside Prince Edward Island National Park.
North Carolina Highway 13 was a primary state highway in the state of North Carolina. It had existed in four separate incarnations in Eastern North Carolina.
The first NC 13 was one of the original 1921 set of numbered North Carolina Highways. It ran northward from a junction with NC 10 in Durham, passing through Rougemont, Timberlake, and Roxboro before reaching the Virginia state line where it met what was then VA 18. In 1925, the routing between Timberlake and Roxboro was straightened. In 1927, the entirety of NC 13 was made part of the route of US 501. In 1930, the concurrent state highway number for this part of US 501 was changed to NC 55, ending the first NC 13.
The second NC 13 was a short lived route, appearing only on 1935 state highway map as replacement for NC 21 from Raleigh to Creedmoor at a junction with US 15 and NC 56. By the following year it had been resigned as part of U.S. Route 15A.
The third NC 13 was established in 1936 on a new primary highway route running from US 220 north of Seagrove northeast to US 421 in Staley. When US 13 was extended into North Carolina in 1951, rather than renumbering NC 13, it was simply demoted to secondary highway status except for the portion that was near NC 42.
Missouri is a rock band from Kansas City, Missouri, known primarily for the song "Movin' On".
During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Ron West was part of a well-remembered Kansas City band, The Chesmann, with his two brothers Gary and Steve. Heavily inspired by British invasion groups, the band played both live covers and recorded original studio material. Gary West was also a member of the band Shooting Star, which scored several modest AOR hits in the late 1970 and early 1980s.
Led by Ron West, the band's self-titled first album was released in 1977 on a label called Panama Records. Even though Panama was an independent label, the band garnered substantial airplay on American FM AOR radio stations, specifically with the track "Movin On". Missouri's first gig was opening for Firefall in Emporia, Kansas. Missouri toured nationally with many major label acts such as Ted Nugent, Golden Earring, among many others.
A second album, "Welcome Two Missouri", was released on the larger and international Polydor label in 1979, including a re-recorded version of "Movin On" minus the original intro. By this time two of the original line up had dropped out. No further recordings except a repackaging of recordings from the previous albums called the best of Missouri. Missouri songs are available on iTunes.
Missouri is the debut album by American rock band Missouri released in August 1977 on Panama Records, catalog PRS-1022. The album was produced by Ron West and Chris Fritz. Movin On received the most airplay, with Really Love You and Mystic Lady receiving airplay as well.
