Purple is defined as a deep, rich shade between crimson and violet, or, more broadly, as a range of hues of color between blue and red, or as a dark color that is a blend of red and blue. According to surveys In Europe and the U.S., purple is the color most often associated with royalty, magic, mystery and piety. When combined with pink, it is associated with eroticism, femininity and seduction.
Purple was the color worn by Roman magistrates; it became the imperial color worn by the rulers of the Byzantine Empire and the Holy Roman Empire, and later by Roman Catholic bishops. Similarly in Japan, the color is traditionally associated with the Emperor and aristocracy.
Purple and violet are similar, though purple is closer to red. In optics, there is an important difference; purple is a composite color made by combining red and blue, while violet is a spectral color, with its own wavelength on the visible spectrum of light.
The word 'purple' comes from the Old English word purpul which derives from the Latin purpura, in turn from the Greek πορφύρα (porphura), name of the Tyrian purple dye manufactured in classical antiquity from a mucus secreted by the spiny dye-murex snail.
Purple is a color.

It has only been released on CD in The Netherlands but was set for release elsewhere in Europe later in 2006; however, the single release outside of the Netherlands never occurred. A download EP is available to most audiences. The CD single features live-acoustic tracks from a recent radio broadcast for 3FM in The Netherlands. The song was originally planned to contain much darker music, but was changed at the last moment. Skin has stated that it is her favourite song from Fake Chemical State, and it is a firm favourite amongst fans.

A COM file is a type of simple executable file. On the Digital Equipment operating systems of the 1970s, .COM
was used as a filename extension for text files containing commands to be issued to the operating system (similar to a batch file). With the introduction of CP/M (a microcomputer operating system), the type of files commonly associated with COM extension changed to that of executable files. This convention was later carried over to MS-DOS. Even when complemented by the more general .exe file format for executables, the compact COM files remain viable and frequently used in MS-DOS.
The .COM
file name extension has no relation to the .com (for "commercial") top-level Internet domain name. However, this similarity in name has been exploited by malicious computer virus writers.
The COM format is the original binary executable format used in CP/M and MS-DOS. It is very simple; it has no header (with the exception of CP/M 3 files), and contains no standard metadata, only code and data. This simplicity exacts a price: the binary has a maximum size of 65,280 (FF00h) bytes (256 bytes short of 64 KB) and stores all its code and data in one segment.
In video games, a bot is a type of weak AI expert system software which for each instance of the program controls a player in deathmatch, team deathmatch and/or cooperative human player, most prominently in the first-person shooters (FPS). Computer-controlled bots may play against other bots and/or human players in unison, either over the Internet, on a LAN or in a local session. Features and intelligence of bots may vary greatly, especially with community created content. Advanced bots feature machine learning for dynamic learning of patterns of the opponent as well as dynamic learning of previously unknown maps – whereas more trivial bots may rely completely on lists of waypoints created for each map by the developer, limiting the bot to play only maps with said waypoints. Bots can be created by game-developers as well as by users after the release. Using bots is against the rules of all of the current main Massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG).
In MUDs, players may run bots to automate laborious tasks: this activity can sometimes make up the bulk of the gameplay. While a prohibited practice in most MUDs, there is an incentive for the player to save his/her time while the bot accumulates resources, such as experience, for the player character.
Purple.com, commonly referred to as "Purple" is a single-page website created in 1994. It once consisted of no links or text and its only noticeable content was a purple background. The site is notable as being the oldest known single-serving site.
The most noticeable feature of the site is the main page with a purple-coloured background. The site has since added subpages, including FAQ's, a notification about abuse/spam, a guideline about linking the site, and guidelines on availability.
According to the creator, software engineer Jeff Abrahamson, the site originated from the difficult process of accessing and surfing the internet in its early days, similar to most early single serving sites.
The site was launched on 31 August 1994. From its launch to late 2006 the background colour was #DD00FF, resulting in numerous complaints that it was not actually purple. It was changed to #7D26CD on 6 November 2006 based on recommendations.
Some sites have been created as parodies of the site. Some of the most well known, both created in 2007 are SometimesRedSometimesBlue.com, created by Damon Zucconi which alternates between a red and blue background and LetsTurnThisFuckingWebsiteYellow.com., a site which consists of a yellow background created by Charles Broskoski. Randomcolour.com is a website that generates a different background colour (chosen at random) when visited.
