"Start!" is the eleventh UK single release by punk rock band, The Jam and their second number-one, following "Going Underground"/"Dreams of Children". Upon its release on 15 August 1980, it debuted at number three, and two weeks later reached number one for one week. Written by Paul Weller and produced by Vic Coppersmith-Heaven and The Jam, "Start!" was the lead single from the band's fifth album Sound Affects. The single's B-side is "Liza Radley".
"Start!" is based on both the main guitar riff and bass riff of The Beatles' 1966 song "Taxman" from the album Revolver, written by George Harrison. Likewise, The Jam's "Dreams of Children" had featured the same "Taxman" bassline, played then as a lead guitar riff.
The album version of the song runs at 2:30 and features trumpets in the final section. The single version, also featured on the "Snap!" compilation, is edited and slightly remixed, and omits the trumpets.
Beastie Boys covered the song, which appears on their 1999 single, "Alive".
Start (Russian: Старт, transliterated Cmapm) was a 35 mm single lens reflex Soviet camera produced by Mechanical Factory of Krasnogorsk (KMZ) during the years of 1958–1964. The camera was inspired by Exakta camera. Start had Bayonet-mount lenses with Exakta-style shutter release arm, KMZ Helios-44 58 mm f/2 normal lens, cloth focal-panel shutter.
An improved version, Start-2, was produced ca. 1963–1964. It had automatic diaphragm and meteric prism.
Start was a short-lived daily tabloid published in Belgrade between late 2005 and early 2006.
After the commercial failure of his Ekipa sports daily, Radisav Rodić, owner of Kurir and Glas javnosti dailies, decided to give Start a try in late 2005. The first issue hit the stands on November 1, 2005.
Resembling Kurir in many ways, many wondered about the commercial reasoning behind a launch of yet another tabloid (admittedly, a little less sensationalist) in the highly saturated Serbian daily newspaper media market.
Edited by Milka Ljubičić, in addition to running the usual political, culturual, life, and social sections, Start tried to compete by offering expanded sports coverage, something that most Serbian tabloids don't do. However, it couldn't keep up and the January 24, 2006 issue turned out to be its last.

In the mathematics of infinite graphs, an end of a graph represents, intuitively, a direction in which the graph extends to infinity. Ends may be formalized mathematically as equivalence classes of infinite paths, as havens describing strategies for pursuit-evasion games on the graph, or (in the case of locally finite graphs) as topological ends of topological spaces associated with the graph.
Ends of graphs may be used (via Cayley graphs) to define ends of finitely generated groups. Finitely generated infinite groups have one, two, or infinitely many ends, and the Stallings theorem about ends of groups provides a decomposition for groups with more than one end.
Ends of graphs were defined by Rudolf Halin (1964) in terms of equivalence classes of infinite paths. Software is a 1982 cyberpunk science fiction novel written by Rudy Rucker. It won the first Philip K. Dick Award in 1983. The novel is the first book in Rucker's Ware Tetralogy, and was followed by a sequel, Wetware, in 1988.
Software introduces Cobb Anderson as a retired computer scientist who was once tried for treason for figuring out how to give robots artificial intelligence and free will, creating the race of boppers. By 2020, they have created a complex society on the Moon, where the boppers developed because they depend on super-cooled superconducting circuits. In that year, Anderson is a pheezer — a freaky geezer, Rucker's depiction of elderly Baby Boomers — living in poverty in Florida and terrified because he lacks the money to buy a new artificial heart to replace his failing, secondhand one.
As the story begins, Anderson is approached by a robot duplicate of himself who invites him to the Moon to be given immortality. Meanwhile, the series' other main character, Sta-Hi Mooney the 1st — born Stanley Hilary Mooney Jr. — a 25-year-old cab driver and "brainsurfer", is kidnapped by a gang of serial killers known as the Little Kidders who almost eat his brain. When Anderson and Mooney travel to the Moon together at the boppers' expense, they find that these events are closely related: the "immortality" given to Anderson turns out to be having his mind transferred into software via the same brain-destroying technique used by the Little Kidders.
