The Sparks Amtrak Station is a former train station in Sparks, Nevada, United States. Prior to closing it was served daily by Amtrak's (the National Railroad Passenger Corporation) California Zephyr, which runs once daily between Chicago, Illinois and Emeryville, California (in the San Francisco Bay Area). Although the California Zephyr still passes through Sparks, it does not stop any longer.

In May 2009, the station was closed because of its proximity to Reno. Safety issues also played a part, as the former station was in a freight yard and what appears to be the station building is actually a Union Pacific yard office.

Salvo

Salvo is the G.I. Joe Team's Anti-Armor Trooper. His real name is David K. Hasle, and he was born in Arlington, Virginia. Salvo was first released as an action figure in 1990, and again in 2005. Both versions have the T-shirt slogan 'The Right of Might'.

Salvo's primary military specialty is anti-armor trooper. He also specializes in repairing "TOW/Dragon" missiles. Salvo expresses a deep distrust of advanced electronic weaponry. He prefers to use mass quantities of conventional explosives to overwhelm enemy forces.

In the Marvel Comics G.I. Joe series, he first appeared in issue #114. There, he fights as part of a large scale operation against Cobra forces in the fictional country of Benzheen. Steeler, Dusty, Salvo, Rock'N'Roll and Hot Seat get into vehicular based combat against the missile expert Metal-Head He is later part of the Joe team on-site who defends G.I. Joe headquarters in Utah against a Cobra assault.

Colours is the debut studio album of Danish singer Christopher released on EMI Denmark. Two singles were released from the album prior. They are "Against the Odds" and "Nothing in Common".

"Colours" is the third single released by Hot Chip from their 2006 album The Warning. It was released on 14 August 2006, shortly after The Warning was nominated for the 2006 Mercury Prize. The single did not chart due to the inclusion of non-promotional stickers with each format.

Critical reception

The critical reception to the song was mixed. MusicOMH described "Colours" as "one of the album's woozier numbers" and stated it had "layers of smile-inducing vocal harmonies and twinkly synths". Boomkat.com stated that Hot Chip's approach to the song was similar to "Boy from School" by "tak[ing] a thudding electro heart and pump[ing] it full of indie melancholy", while Contactmusic.com said "Colours" "transcends its initial child-like innocence to seem both gorgeous and, somehow, profound." The group chorus harmony was compared to Brian Wilson, while the drum rhythms were said to "sit between Stereolab and The Beta Band".

However, Clickmusic.com said it was one of the "weakest tracks" from The Warning and said it was "bland and reptitive [sic]". The melody was described as being "as lightweight as Victoria Beckham and less memorable than many of her singles."
