Day and night, party life
Time goes by, a one-way train
A long, pathetic song
Empty heart, idle star
Just about to fall apart
But then she came along
But how much can she take?
Just how long before she breaks?
Should have made her stay
Should have known just what to say
Yeah, I should have known better
Now I've gone and messed it up again
But I don't wanna let her go
And so I hope to find a way
Maybe she will forgive this fool
Who didn't know what to do
Man, I should have known better
Day and night, getting right
Moving on, a one-way change
A new, refreshing song
A racing heart, a rising star
Just about to make his mark
Like nothing could go wrong
How to make her see
