Peter John Adams (18 May 1938 – 13 December 1999) was a New Zealand-born Australian actor, best remembered for his performances in Australian television. Born in Taumarunui, New Zealand, Adams later emigrated to Australia. He died in Melbourne in 1999, of cancer, at the age of 61.

Career

Television work

Adams appeared in Australian soap opera Number 96 in 1974-75 and had a five-week stint in medical soap opera The Young Doctors. Adams' defining role came in 1977 when he was cast as a leading character, Detective Jeff Johnson, in the police procedural series Cop Shop. His character "JJ" became a hit with audiences, winning Adams several Logies. In 1980 he won Best Lead Actor in a Series and in 1981, the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor. He left that series for a role in musical theatre, but later returned, staying until the series was cancelled in December 1983. He subsequently appeared in Prisoner as the tough Acting Governor Bob Moran, for three months in 1986. In 1994 he appeared in the television movie Halifax f.p. – The Feeding with Rebecca Gibney.

There have been many colonial governors of Anguilla. The official title of the position began as Deputy Governor of Anguilla, which transitioned to Chief Magistrate of Anguilla, and then became the current title of Governor of Anguilla.

Peter Adams, PC OOnt (born April 17, 1936) is a former politician from Ontario, Canada. He was a Liberal member of Canada's House of Commons from 1993 to 2006 representing the riding of Peterborough. Previously, Adams represented the provincial riding of Peterborough in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1987 to 1990, sitting as a member of the Ontario Liberal Party.

Background

Adams was born in the United Kingdom and educated at the University of Sheffield and McGill University. He served as director of the subarctic research laboratory in Schefferville, Quebec, and was a member of the Geography department and coordinator of Northern Studies at Trent University in Peterborough, where he is now an Emeritus Professor. Adams also served as Vice President - Academic while at Trent. Adams has authored many books and articles, and co-edited the regional history Peterborough and the Kawarthas. In 1981, he was named as Peterborough's Citizen of the Year.

Doolittle is the second studio album from the American alternative rock band Pixies, released in April 1989 on 4AD. The album's offbeat and dark subject material, featuring references to surrealism, Biblical violence, torture and death, contrasts with the clean production sound achieved by the newly hired producer Gil Norton. Doolittle was the Pixies' first international release, with Elektra Records acting as the album's distributor in the United States and PolyGram in Canada.

Pixies released two singles from Doolittle, "Here Comes Your Man" and "Monkey Gone to Heaven", both of which were chart successes on the US chart for Modern Rock Tracks. The album itself reached number eight on the UK Albums Chart, an unexpected success for the band. In retrospect, album tracks such as "Debaser", "Wave of Mutilation", "Monkey Gone to Heaven", "Gouge Away", and "Hey" are highly acclaimed by critics, while the album, along with debut LP Surfer Rosa, is often seen as the band's strongest work.

Background

The song was originally from the group's second Korean album Revolution. The group performed this song as a part of their comeback stage special alongside Revolution's lead single, "Wanna", starting on July 31, 2009, beginning with KBS's Music Bank then onto MBC'sShow! Music Core and finally on SBS's Inkigayo. After wrapping up their comeback stages to begin promotions for their second full-length Korean album, the song proved to be popular with the viewers due to its addicting "butt dance" that is featured prominently in the choreography; helping the group's Revolution album to perform well on various music charts prompting the group to promote the song more on music programs rather than the actual lead single, "Wanna". Due to the overwhelming response that "Mister" received, the group's overall popularity in South Korea increased, with numerous advertisement requests coming in for the group as they had more advertisements in October 2009 than the previous two years.
