The Tyrrell 004 is a Formula One racing car which was designed for the 1972 Formula One season by Tyrrell's Chief Designer, Derek Gardner. It is the fourth and final car built of the basic Tyrrell 001 design. The 004 was seen in five races, three with Tyrrell: Jackie Stewart drove the 004 in the Monaco Grand Prix to finish 4th, The Scotsman was also scheduled to drive it in the Belgian Grand Prix, but a stomach ulcer put him out of the race, and the team did not use a replacement driver. Patrick Depailler drove the 004 in the French Grand Prix and was not classified, and the Frenchman was given one more opportunity in the 004 for the United States Grand Prix and finished 7th.

The 004 was replaced by the Tyrrell 005, the first car of Gardner's new design. In 1973, 004 was sold to a South African team. Eddie Keizan finished 13th in the 1973 South African Grand Prix and 14th in the 1974 South African Grand Prix. Keizan also drove the car in the South African Formula One Championship, recording two wins and nine second place finishes in 1973 and 74. The car is now owned by a collector in the United States, where it has been restored, and is driven in historic races.

Racing history

When Ken Tyrrell, the team's owner, became disenchanted with the poor performance of March chassis during the 1970 season, he decided he would design and build his own car. He employed Derek Gardner to design it in secret at his own house. The project, codenamed "SP" which meant "Special Project" cost Tyrrell over £22,000 of his own money. The resulting car made its debut at Oulton Park at a non-championship race but retired. Jackie Stewart took pole in the Canadian Grand Prix but retired with axle failure while leading, Stewart led again in the United States Grand Prix when the car suffered an oil leak. The Mexican Grand Prix was delayed due to the large crowd of 200,000 proving difficult to control, almost forcing the cancellation of the race. They were crammed in front of the guard-rails, sat at the trackside and ran across the track itself. Despite impassioned appeals from Stewart and local hero Pedro Rodríguez they still remained troublesome. Stewart had suspension failure caused by running over a dog. Stewart took pole in the South African Grand Prix but finished 2nd to Mario Andretti's Ferrari, Stewart raced the Tyrrell 003 for the reminder of the season. Peter Revson drove the 001's final race in the United States Grand Prix but retired with clutch failure.

Plot

At the Wapi Eagle Casino, Detective Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos) speaks with casino manager Nicole Jackson (Claudia Ferri) and security chief Roberta Drays (Patti Kim), both of whom deny seeing Rosie. Sarah learns that the casino camera footage gets erased after 24 hours and asks to interview customers. Nicole tells her that she is on Indian land, which is not under state regulation, and orders her to leave. Outside the casino, Sarah calls a district attorney to obtain a warrant on the bank that owns the casino ATMs, so she can review their camera footage. Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) arrives and they discuss the case. She tells him that Rosie's phone and backpack were never found and could be inside the casino. The girl had taken the last ferry to the island on Friday and must have spent the night there. Sarah tells him that the casino manager will offer no help. As her phone begins to ring, Holder calls his sister and leaves a voice mail, saying that he plans to attend his nephew’s school event. Sarah’s call is from her son Jack's school. He has been absent for the past three days. Holder drives Sarah to the motel, where she finds Jack’s phone but not him. Thinking Regi might know where Jack may be, Holder drives Sarah to the marina. However, Regi has already sailed away on her boat. Sarah speaks to the mother of Jack's best friend by phone. She is told that Jack is the leader of a group of boys who cut class and gather at a place called The Tunnel.

Major cast and plot changes were made to the series at the beginning of season 4.Two actors Jonathan LaPaglia and Michael DeLorenzo departed(leading to the shooting death of Det.Tommy McNamara and the bombing death of Det.Eddie Torres) Consequently, the nightclub Natalie's was eliminated as a regular setting, and the weekly musical guest appearances came to an end. As a result of all these changes, ratings for the show dramatically dropped forcing Fox to cancel the series, leaving the series finale "Catharsis" unaired until the series entered syndication in 1998; the episode aired in 1999.
