The Stories is a boxset of three EPs by death/doom metal band My Dying Bride. The boxset was released as the EPs had become quite rare around the world. The Stories had a high amount of sales and ended up selling all 3,000 copies, causing it to be as rare as the individual EPs themselves. This is what prompted the release of the "Trinity", which features the tracks from the three EPs on one CD, barring "Transcending (Into The Exquisite)".
Making It (or Makin' It) may refer to:
Makin' It is an American sitcom starring David Naughton as a disco dancer in the late 1970s. The series only lasted nine episodes, airing on Fridays at 8:00PM on ABC from February 1 through March 23, 1979, before being canceled. It also aired in the United Kingdom on ITV from March 21, 1979.
In 2002, TV Guide ranked it number 40 on its TV Guide's 50 Worst TV Shows of All Time list.
The show was set in Passaic, New Jersey, and was about the daily life of Billy Manucci, a young man who frequented the local disco club, Inferno, at night while working at an ice cream parlor called Tasty Treats during the day. Manucci was highly influenced by the disco craze and the movie Saturday Night Fever specifically.
Makin' It had the misfortune of coming to air near the end of the disco fad as backlash against the disco culture (such as the one portrayed in the show) was rising in the United States, culminating in Disco Demolition Night in the summer of 1979. As such, it lasted only eight weeks on air before being canceled.
"Makin' It" was a 1979 pop song performed by David Naughton, his first and, to date, only musical release. It was the theme song for the television show Makin' It, in which Naughton starred. It was written by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris, the team also responsible for Gloria Gaynor's #1 hit "I Will Survive" and Peaches and Herb's #5 hit "Shake Your Groove Thing" and #1 hit "Reunited". It was released as both a 7-inch single and a 12-inch single, with an instrumental version of the song titled "Still Makin' It" as the B-side.
It appeared in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 16 weeks, and in the top 10 for five weeks. It debuted at #89 on March 31, peaking at #5 for two weeks, July 21 and July 28.
The song also appeared on the soundtrack of the 1979 film Meatballs. It was also featured in the 1999 film Detroit Rock City (despite the movie being set in 1978 and "Makin' It" not being released until 1979), as well as episodes of the television series Cold Case and Fame.
I'm makin it with other species
