The Stories is a boxset of three EPs by death/doom metal band My Dying Bride. The boxset was released as the EPs had become quite rare around the world. The Stories had a high amount of sales and ended up selling all 3,000 copies, causing it to be as rare as the individual EPs themselves. This is what prompted the release of the "Trinity", which features the tracks from the three EPs on one CD, barring "Transcending (Into The Exquisite)".
"Magnet and Steel" is a hit single written and performed by Walter Egan, released in May 1978. It was the first and greatest hit on Egan's second solo LP, Not Shy. It reached number eight on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number nine in Canada. It spent 22 weeks on the American charts.
Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, members of Fleetwood Mac, sang background vocals and co-produced the song. Nicks was also Egan's inspiration for the song.
"Magnet and Steel" was featured in Boogie Nights (1997), Overnight Delivery (1998) and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999).
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ah ah
Now I told you so
you ought to know
It takes some time
for a feeling to grow
You're so close now
I can't let you go
And I can't let go
(chorus)
(With you I'm not shy)
to show the way I feel
(With you I might try)
my secrets to reveal
For you are a magnet
and I am steel
I can't hope that I'll
hold you for long
You're a woman who's
lost in your song
But the love that I
feel is so strong
And it can't be wrong
(chorus)
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
(chorus)
For you are a magnet
and I am steel
For you are a magnet
