The Stone may refer to:
The Stone is a Serbian black metal band from Belgrade, Serbia, formed in 1996. They were originally known as Stone to Flesh and changed their name to The Stone in 2001.
The Stone was born in 1996. At first they were known under a different band name, Stone to Flesh. In February '97, the first demo called "Serbian Woods" was recorded followed by first live appearances. "Killed by the Sun" demo was taped a year after and the band was reached by Greek label Demonion Productions which asked if they were willing to release both demo materials on tape version, and soon after the first official release, titled "Unveiled Evil" was celebrated. In winter 1999/2000, the band recorded "Some Wounds Bleed Forever", first full-length manifest which was later released by CCP Records.
After some crucial changes concerning the band name, and due to misunderstandings with CCP Records, the band signed to Solistitium Productions/Wolfcult Productions, and in spring of 2002 released "Slovenska krv" ("Slavic Blood"), second full-length and first one under The Stone banner. Meanwhile, the "Tragom Hromoga Vuka" ("Tracking the Limping Wolf") CD was out in March '03, presenting two brand new songs and both demo materials included.
The Stone is a not-for-profit experimental music performance space located in the Alphabet City neighborhood in New York City. It was founded in April 2005 by John Zorn, who serves as the artistic director.
The Stone is situated on the Northwest corner of Avenue C and 2nd Street, in a building which used to be the Golden Dragon Chinese restaurant. Residential apartments are located above The Stone in the same building, though residents enter the building through a separate door along Avenue C. The only signage visible is the wording The Stone in small gold lettering painted on the door which is visible after the metal security gate is rolled up a few hours before each performance.
Unlike most musical venues in the area, The Stone does not serve food or drinks. Dancing is also not permitted, as The Stone does not have a cabaret license. All door revenues from the admission cost are given directly to the performers. The club supports itself with donations, benefit concerts, and sales of limited edition CDs. The CD series includes performers such as Mike Patton, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Fred Frith, Chris Cutler, Bill Laswell, Medeski, Martin and Wood and John Zorn himself.
Virgo may refer to:
Virgo is the name of several fictional characters in Marvel Comics.
The original Virgo first appeared in Avengers #72 (January 1970), and was created by Roy Thomas and Sal Buscema. The character subsequently appears in Avengers #120-123 (February–May 1974), Ghost Rider #7 (August 1974), Iron Man #184 (July 1984), and West Coast Avengers #26 (November 1987), in which she is killed. Virgo appeared as part of the "Zodiac" entry in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition #20.
Elaine McLaughlin is a founding member of the Zodiac, and her base of operations was Denver, Colorado. The Zodiac was infiltrated by Nick Fury, posing as Scorpio; the Zodiac fought the Avengers and escaped. Led by Taurus, the Zodiac later attempted to kill all Manhattan residents born under the sign of Gemini as a show of power, but were thwarted by the Avengers. Taurus's faction attempted to kill the Zodiac dissident faction, but all twelve leaders were captured by the Avengers. A new android version of the Zodiac later appeared, led by Scorpio in a new android body, massacred the human Zodiac, and took over their criminal operations.
The surname Virgo appears to have several derivations, all from the Latin word Virgo meaning virgin or maiden. One relates to actors who played the part of a woman in a play. Another is a nickname for a shy or girlish young man, or possibly ironically for a lecher. The third relates to the offsring of medieval clergy.
The first recorded Virgo was recorded in the Hundred Rolls essentially the census of 1273.
The name occurs most commonly in the English counties of Sussex, Kent and Gloucester.
In France the name most commonly occurs around Cahors, one of the centres of Franch protestantism with roots back the days of the Cathars and the Avignon Papacy and the clusters in England, particularly that around the Forest of Dean, relate to locations where Huguenot communities are known to have grouped after fleeing from religious persecution in France.
In geology, rock or stone is a naturally occurring solid aggregate of one or more minerals or mineraloids. For example, the common rock granite is a combination of the quartz, feldspar and biotite minerals. The Earth's outer solid layer, the lithosphere, is made of rock.
Rocks have been used by mankind throughout history. From the Stone Age, rocks have been used for tools. The minerals and metals found in rocks have been essential to human civilization.
Three major groups of rocks are defined: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. The scientific study of rocks is called petrology, which is an essential component of geology.
At a granular level, rocks are composed of grains of minerals, which, in turn, are homogeneous solids formed from a chemical compound that is arranged in an orderly manner. The aggregate minerals forming the rock are held together by chemical bonds. The types and abundance of minerals in a rock are determined by the manner in which the rock was formed. Many rocks contain silica (SiO2); a compound of silicon and oxygen that forms 74.3% of the Earth's crust. This material forms crystals with other compounds in the rock. The proportion of silica in rocks and minerals is a major factor in determining their name and properties.
I found that love, provides
The key-unlocks, the heart and souls, of you and me-
Love will love, to sing your song,
Love is written in the stone
Every man, I meet is walking time-
Free to wander, past his conscious mind,
Love will come, and take you home-
Love is written, in the stone
Do you believe, my friend, in what you claim, people of the world,
All doubt the same-bringing questions
Of their own-truth is written,
In the stone
In the stone, you'll find the meaning
Why you're not standing tall
In the stone
The light is shining, forever touching all-
Life experience a passing day
Time will witness, what the ole
Folks say-getting stronger every day
-Strenght is written in the stone-
Deep inside, our hearts for us
To keep-lies a spark of light that
Never sleeps
The greatest, you've ever known-
Yea is written-
In the stone
In the stone, you'll find the meaning
Why you're not standing tall
In the stone

Never, never my darling, never you'll
Be alone-Forever, ever my darling
True love is written in the stone-
