"I DON’T CARE" (1905) Words by Jean Lenox
VERSE:
They say I’m crazy, got no sense,
But I don’t care,
They may or may not mean offense,
But I don’t care,
You see I’m sort of independent,
Of a clever race descendent,
My star is on the ascendant,
That’s why I don’t care.
CHORUS:
I don’t care, I don’t care,
What they may think of me,
I’m happy go lucky,
Men say I am plucky,
So jolly and care free,
I don’t care, I don’t care,
If I do get the mean and stony stare,
If I’m never successful,
It won’t be distressful,
‘Cos I don’t care.
VERSE:
Some people say I think I’m it,
But I don’t care,
They say they don’t like me a bit,
But I don’t care,
You see I’m sort of independent,
Of a clever race descendant,
My star is on the ascendant,
That’s why I don’t care.
(Formerly named Solution Sequence)
Questions are answered before they are asked
Why are you so vague?
Birthstones and pendants are signs of what we’ve made
I answer politely cause I believe that my soul remains
together with many who pretend that they’re the same
It's never been easier to kill the light in your eyes
It's never been easier.
So I kept myself with confidence to keep you
But mindless songs and words and paragraphs and
Everything that breaks apart
Is folding overconfidence to weak tunes
Paper and words are still much the same in the way that they bend
And crush my feet
I know you’ve got your eyes on all my wasting
I know you cant help but detain me from my actions
I ask you with restrain what you want of me
Protect me now from a rebellious brain
Somehow I fear I know You
Can I graft myself into you?
But whats done is done
isnt it.
This is my solution sequence
let me obey You
This is my solution sequence
no more folding to weak tunes
