"Heavy Heart" is the third single from the album #4 Record by Australian rock band You Am I. It was released in 1998 and reached number 49 on the Australian national charts and number 9 in that year's Hottest 100.

Tim Rogers said of the song, "I played "Heavy Heart" for the first time, and Emmylou Harris was in the front row, and people were like, 'What the fuck is that song.' So I thought, 'Hmmm, maybe I'm on to something here.' I wrote that song for Charlie Rich who passed away around that time, unfortunately."

As one of You Am I's most popular songs Heavy Heart has been covered several times, most notably by Paul Kelly, TZU, Ben Lee and Seattle rock group and sometime-touring partners Supersuckers.Tex Perkins performed the song with the band on their 'You Am I & Friends' Live at the Wireless session which was released on the Convicts bonus disc 'The Convict Stain'. Australian indie rock singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett covered the song in her Austin City Limits performance that aired October 31, 2015, stating it was her favourite song.

Heavy Heart is an album by American composer, bandleader and keyboardist Carla Bley recorded in 1983 and released on the Watt/ECM label in 1984.

Reception

The Allmusic review by Richard S. Ginell awarded the album 3 stars and stated "while Heavy Heart is a somewhat bright, light-minded album, there are plenty of dark undercurrents to be heard". The Penguin Guide to Jazz awarded the album 2 stars.

Rear Admiral Mark Anderson CB is a former Royal Navy officer who served as Commander Operations and Rear Admiral, Submarines.

Naval career

Educated at the University of Manchester, Anderson joined the Royal Navy in 1974 and was appointed commanding officer of the submarine HMS Talent in 1993. He became Military Assistant to the Chief of Defence Logistics in May 2000, Commanding Officer of the frigate HMS Marlborough as well as Captain of the 4th Frigate Squadron in August 2002 and Director Equipment Capability (Underwater Effects) in March 2003 before moving on to become the Chief of the Defence Staff's Liaison Officer to the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee in July 2007 and Commander Operations and Rear Admiral, Submarines in January 2009. He retired from the Royal Navy in March 2011.

In retirement he became Strategy Director of Sonar & Undersea Systems and then Group Marketing Director at Ultra Electronics.
