"Don't Call Me Baby" is a song by Australian house duo Madison Avenue. The song is the band's biggest hit, reaching number one in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. In the latter country, the song was the 31st best selling of 2000. The song features a bassline sample from Ma Quale Idea by Italo disco artist Pino D'Angiò, which in turn is based on "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" by McFadden & Whitehead.

Commercial performance

"Don't Call Me Baby" debuted at number three on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart on 31 October 1999. Three weeks later, the track reached its peak at number two, where it stayed for six non-consecutive weeks. The recording was certified triple platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), denoting 210000 shipments of the single. In New Zealand, the song entered the RIANZ Singles Chart at number thirty-nine. Two weeks later, the single achieved a big gain when it jumped from number thirty-four in the previous week, to number two. By its seventh week in the top forty, "Don't Call Me Baby" peaked at number-one where it stayed for one week. The song was given a gold certification by Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) for shipments of 7500 copies of the single.

"Don't Call Me Baby" is a pop–R&B song performed by Canadian singer Kreesha Turner for her debut studio album, Passion (2008). The track was released as the album's second single in May 2008 in Canada. It has since peaked at #8 on the Canadian Hot 100. The track was later released in the United States in June 2008 and went on to peak at #1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.

The song was composed by lead singer Tracey Bryn with guitarist and keyboardist Mike Jones, and was released as the fourth single from the band's debut album, Let It Bee. Backed with "Jump This Way", it became a hit, peaking at No. 15 in the UK, No. 48 in Australia, and No. 25 in New Zealand. It has remained one of the band's most enduring hits.

Sound design is the process of specifying, acquiring, manipulating or generating audio elements. Sound design most commonly involves the manipulation of previously composed or recorded audio, such as sound effects and dialogue. History

The use of sound to evoke emotion, reflect mood and underscore actions in plays and dances began in prehistoric times. At its earliest, it was used in religious practices for healing or just for fun. In ancient Japan, theatrical events called kagura were performed in Shinto shrines with music and dance.

Plays were performed in medieval times in a form of theatre called Commedia dell'arte, which used music and sound effects to enhance performances. The use of music and sound in the Elizabethan Theatre followed, in which music and sound effects were produced off stage using devices such as bells, whistles, and horns. Cues would be written in the script for music and sound effects to be played at the appropriate time.
